No. There shouldn't be any landlords
Yeah but the landlords in today’s society that use their land to build services that help the community for a small fee are not evil because we all partake in capitalism to varying degrees.

right. this thread is clearly about landlords that are charging people for shelter. a gym is not a shelter, its a service.

I can see how they can be evil but I think it’s understandable for people who are facing financial difficulties and they have an extra room in their home who want to rent out, or move out of their house to somebody else’s house and rent their own house to somebody else.

you do realize when i say landlords shouldn't exist that also means the conditions for them such as things like youve described right?
Like, if youre struggling to pay your mortgage, the solution should not be, hey lets get another place to live and rent this place out to someone else struggling to pay the bills as it is

But given the conditions in today’s society, if they don’t have any other options to survive but to rent out their property, I wouldn’t call them evil.
This is not a controversial statement I would imagine but I'll also direct you to read this thread

Lol this thread is still going on?
One of the dumbest takes I've ever seen
You don't like rent and the concept of money? Go live in the jungle then, no rent.
Or go to a communist country like Vietnam and China, maybe you'll enjoy that life more

so you clearly see why capitalism has to go then right?
imagine defending a system where people literally have to exploit others just to survive.

I’m not defending capitalism. I’m saying victims of capitalism playing by the rules of capitalism in order to survive are not evil.

I do think a lot of the justifications landlords themselves try to use to defend their landlording tend to lead me to believe they lack any sort of empathy at the very least.

It depends on their life situation. If they look like they don’t need that rent money and they’re just doing it out of greed then yeah that’s not nice. But I don’t want to judge someone who’s struggling.
imagine thinking that charging people for shelter is being a 'parasite'
it's literally the opposite, you're providing a place for somebody to live
you think people are supposed to do that for free??
this is literally communist ideology and it results in hell on earth

do you think houses actually just disappear without landlords?
do you think houses actually just disappear without landlords?
what kind of dumb question is that?
What about real state agents? Not charging for shelter but selling houses for a commission.
