Landlords literally don't contribute anything to society

They just own s*** and make more money off the fact that they own s***

And I know for a fact that a lot of ppl itt are just reacting negatively to the thread bc hating on synopsis has become a ktt meme lol

They pay property tax on houses or apartments they rent out and they pay income tax on the money they make. Both very literally directly contribute to society lol.

What if they use the money they earn to contribute to society?

How does that make them evil tho ?

I don't think all of them are people with nefarious and dark intentions, but the way they make their money is definitely exploitative, regardless of their intentions.

Also would score providing people with housing in the contributing to society category

    okay the landlords are gone

    who owns the apartment/house now?

OP wants everyone to live in gray tenements where every apartment is bugged and the secret police sweep you away if you complain about the government

In general with out including the obvious examples, how is owning land and allowing people to live on land exploitative?

Well they don't allow people to live on land, they charge people to live on land.

They add no value to society, yet they extract a whole lot of it, that makes it inherently exploitative.

I'm not gonna jump into this argument, but landlords do less than the bare minimum when it comes to maintaining properties lol

But that's because people don't know how to take care of s***.

Landlord will only fix something so many times before he's like alright f*** you guys, I'm cutting corners.

I own a house and rent out half of it. I maintain the house and mostly charge rent that covers mostly the property tax and have another job. While landlords, property managers, investment realtors, the like, are mostly predatory I feel ok about what I do for my tenants.

community owned condos and homes? how would we decide who lives where?

    are we paying rent anymore?

this all just raises a lot of questions that synop won't take the time to answer cus he'd have to actually think about how his idea would actually work in the real world

I won't answer because these aren't actual questions lol. A child could answer them. You are a troll

Synopsis you should make a thread about how having a job is evil and how we should abolish jobs. I need some justification to maintain my unemployment status.

We shouldn't abolish jobs but ur livelihood shouldn't be tied to having a job

Being benefactors to a morally bankrupt system, can a slavemaster be anything other than evil? Same applies to landlords.

They dont provide ppl with housing. And even if you want to say they technically do, we dont need them in order to provide people with housing lol

Slave owners not only provided housing for societies less fortunate, but also food. We should bring them back tbh, they did so much societal good.
