Right now over 100,000 workers are on strike after almost two years of constantly putting their lives at risk and barely getting a live able wage back. Many of these workers have done this without the support of union leadership rebelling against yellow union leadership.

Tribune of the People, has been covering a lot of these strikes and providing up to date information from the workers on strike.

They also made record breaking profits last year or this year so I heard.

I never understand companies that underpay their employees

I can tell you beyond a reasonable doubt that anyone who isn't engineer/supervisor level in manufacturing is literally looked at as a worthless peon, even those who are sharp and do a better job than most.

Your opinion hardly matters, most of the time it absolutely doesn't, so literally stick it up your ass and get back to work. We have engineers for that, you're just a lazy uneducated leech. You're a dipshit who doesn't know about anything except drinking and smoking weed. You probably have no skills, so we won't even consider paying for your schooling to better yourself.

The company owners and higher ups will literally treat the assembly workers like they're dumb little kids in grade school.

Owners of these manufacturing companies think that they are owed cheap labor for the products that they supply. After all, they're providing us with a paycheck to live on and helping the world with their product!!! (Lol not really).

They will coddle exceptional employees and make them feel like they're moving up... I'm talking people who could make big moves with their lives if they just chased the bag a little harder, but then they get trapped there with a horrible wage, doing way more than they really should. And they think it's all good because the people in charge are basically sucking their toes because they're such a cheap, effective investment. Then after 5-6 years, they're making maybe 4 dollars more than someone who just started and who isn't even efficient. And that's IF they moved up to a slightly higher position.

Also, don't forget that 'Anyone can do your job!'

Why would you get paid MORE if I can just get a temp agency to throw workers at me like tennis practice, all year long, who will take the bare minimum hourly wage for this type of job.

Who cares if you're doing repetitive mundane tasks for 10+ hours a day 5-6, sometimes 7 days a week for months/years and gaining NOTHING from it but 'manufacturing' experience and money?

Anyone can do it, so suck it up and take our poverty wages while you submit your life to us and learn hardly anything practical. Maybe if you kiss our ass enough and make those rates, we'll CONSIDER teaching you something else and maybe send you to school to stimulate your mind, but that's not within our best interests... We need parts! We need you to be skilless peons with no ambition until we can replace you with robots!

    Oh absolutely

There’s no existential threat of communist superpowers to entice the USA to keep workers on their side so right now is the time where workers have to make their own demands

I think it more has to do with the worker shortage than any global super powers

people feel like they won't be replaced cause there is no one to replace them

as more boomers can't work the worker shortage will become more intense imo

the way the economy has been in recent decades forced many boomers to work longer than any generation ever but people get old, they might pretend they can work forever but no one can lol

plus the boomer generation is massive so the ones living in retirement are still a burden on the economy while most will stop working

the pandemic just accelerated this dynamic

ive seen some a***ysts point out that the "worker shortage" is effectively a general strike. forcing employers to increase wages and benefits, giving workers more leverage to find and gain access to higher paying positions, etc. all being symptoms of organized general strikes.
