Sorry for getting on one, I just exposed tf out of my job occupation.
S*** got me heated, but I gotta remember everyday that it's not forever, not even close.
Man I understand, you and every worker deserves better
The Colorado Labor Wars
Battle of Blair Mountain (the event I’m referencing)
The Massey Energy Strike
Thank you so much
glad the market is increasingly losing its favored place and that these strikes seem to be actually gaining increased leverage due to the current economy, but i have to admit im still a bit cautious here about what the future of labor strikes are going to be. CNN is running articles saying these labor strikes are "anti-vax solidarity". I think most people aren't stupid enough to fall for that, but what I'd really be weary of here is if you just so suddenly begin to see other causes besides labor itself flaring up again. Like if you suddenly begin seeing a bunch of talk hyper-fixated on things like "BIPOC or LGBTQ workers" instead of actual labor, all i have to say is
remember, there was literally a leaked document from amazon (i believe i even posted it here) saying stroking social tensions by supporting movements like BLM instead of implementing changes was good for their business since it kept workers in place...

this is literally exactly what i'm talking about, i really hope people do not fall for this when leverage is entirely on their side
apparently John Deere's solution to the strikes is to migrate their white-collar workers from offices into blue-collar positions temporarily

Thanks to sound fiscal policy, and the pandemic, the labour market is tilted in favour of workers in a way it has not been for a long time

the pandemic? absolutely. sound fiscal policy? if anything its the opposite, its the failure of fiscal policy which has lead to worker leverage. unless you consider policy which failed its original intention but ended up positive due to its failure to be sound? what specific policies do you think are at play here workers are leveraging?

I can't expand because I have an early lecture tomorrow (midnight here in the uk) but I'm considering a post on the current state of the macroeconomy soon
