"the labor movement is starting again in the US? you know what to do, intern"
UAW is an actual union and it makes me genuinely happy to see them doing this and gaining leverage. Many unions these days the US are bs white collar unions in bourgeois industries like entertainment & media which do nothing beyond being a vehicle for self-gain and agenda-driven hostile takeovers. These actual real labor unions like UAW (and the Kellogg workers trying to form one) are like the Teamsters. I hope that these real groups become the face of Unions here in the US and not bullshit """unions""" which exist at online magazines and whatnot which self-promote their importance.
Black friday is about to go all the way up this year...
Judge here in Alabama just ruled the Warrior Met Coal workers can't picket within 300 feet of any Warrior Met Coal mine or office.
The workers there have been striking since April 1st

If there is one semblance of a silver lining to this pandemic. It's opened up the people's eyes to how fugazy all this s*** really is.
A mass worker's revolution/strike might really be possible in this country I never thought I'd see the day.

This s*** runs so f***ing deep its crazy. Almost every industry takes advantage of its workers.
Imagine living in a so called developed country and being forced into legalize slave labor to live and pay rent and then dying from cancer you can't afford to treat.
I hope we get a movment nationwide started. That s*** Is def possible.

this s*** is so common too, there was this immigrant worker getting paid 8 dollar an hour (minimum wage here is 14), 10-12 hour shift, and was overworked so hard she fainted at work 2 times and no one did anything but let her lie on the ground. the doctor said she has to take a 5 day rest, the “best” her manager said they can give her was 2 days and this was during the pandemic.

If the entertainment district wasn't contaminated with pussies that'll undercut and take s*** with a smile on they faces we could change the standards so much when it comes to venues and pay rate.
