yeah not a huge fan of Liv
I get that you're not talking about her acting as why you're not a huge fan, but she's so good in Skammen, En Passion and Höstsonaten etc. where there's a strong focus on her and she actually gets to do a lot. Unlike some of her other films.
but yeah, opposite Bibi who has charisma out the f***ing ass is difficult. She's arguably more memorable in En Passion too

She is good but goddamn
Bergman even traded up Bibi for her romantically
bibi delivering one of the most erotic scenes in cinema with words in persona. f***en queen
apparently based on an event from bergman's childhood

honestly liked this much better than I thought I would. I dislike a lot of 80s action comedies. But they really played everything beautifully.
My reaction to that first scene with the cars going through the houses though
Jackie Chan is the man. Everything he did in Hong Kong/Asia is amazing

have to rewatch Duck, You Sucker sometime. Remember liking it, but I remember less about it than other Leone. Rewatch mightghelp.
Top 3 Leone fr fr
Not really feeling that Liv Ullmann slander
It's personas fault for all those closeups on her smug, heavily browed face
I respect her artistry but don't share Ing's obsession with her visage
I didn't really like Duck, You Sucker
i put it over FFoD tbh. might be my favorite leone/morricone soundtrack too

Those first four Leone dusters are all easy 10s for me.... Duck like a 6
space jam
10/10
the soundtrack is awesome and its the funniest movie ever. jordan and bugs are the best onscreen trio ever and they deserved oscars. the chemistry in their kiss scene..
I've been watching Paul Thomas Anderson's earlier work for the first time.
Boogie Nights, Magnolia and Punch Drunk Love - all get a 7/10.
Gonna watch Phantom Thread next as it's the only one left.
Damn Boogie only a 7?

Double Indemnity (1944)
10/10
I’m a big fan of Billy Wilder’s films, so it’s a shame that I only got around to watching this today. This film was on point from beginning to end. Starts off aggressive and just keeps escalating with every scene. Billy Wilder’s humor fits naturally into the story and brings life to the supporting characters who are extremely likeable in contrast to the leads who are of course rotten to the core. This was amazing.
