Dreams (1955)
A Lesson In Love (1954)

Watched for the first time.
Excellent movie
This is an absolute favorite but I lowkey don’t remember how that face fits into the movie at all? Am I just stupid or what
Damn Boogie only a 7?
Lol yeah. I will definitely appreciate it more as time goes on, I was really fascinated by the characters, all of them had so much definition and life, which I appreciated so much. My favorite was Buck (Don Cheadle) and his search for an identity, I didn't quite like the end of his story but the ride there was great.
Something about the movie did feel a little disjointed, hence the 7. I can't really definitively say what it was. I did notice, for example the build up to all the main characters being introduced (up until Todd Packer) was very smooth. Sometime after that it started to break off a little, and the pace slowed down, which made sense as they had to deal with almost every characters story. It was just a little too slow for me. For a first viewing it was a small put off.
But like I said, I will definitely grow to enjoy it more as time goes on, those were some dope characters to spend time with.
Once Upon a Time in hollywood 3rd watch
Still great tbh I love it
8.5/10
This movie helped me understand movies that are character driven, as opposed to plot driven movies. You just kind of spend time with them, and watch their shortcomings and growth and it was really well done. I started watching Paul Thomas Anderson movies and I credit Once Upon a Time in Hollywood for helping me get his movies. I found it easier to just sit there and follow a characters journey (like Daniel Plainview) instead of waiting for a plot to kick in.
Tarantino, jesus, that was a great movie.

Double Indemnity (1944)
10/10
I’m a big fan of Billy Wilder’s films, so it’s a shame that I only got around to watching this today. This film was on point from beginning to end. Starts off aggressive and just keeps escalating with every scene. Billy Wilder’s humor fits naturally into the story and brings life to the supporting characters who are extremely likeable in contrast to the leads who are of course rotten to the core. This was amazing.
big kino

I’m really into Dopeboy movies so if you are also give this a watch.
This movie actually a new take on the Dopeboy it’s about a Man that takes care of dogs but does some Dealing on the side the movie is in Italian but that doesn’t take away from how hard this movie really is every scene is grimy af And makes you think about what’s gonna happen next in this mysterious reality he lives
9/10

Le dîner de con

Blue Chips (1994)
6/10
Not a good movie by any means. Actually it’s a pretty lazy Hollywood film, but it’s fun see some basketball icons make cameos. And guess that’s good enough.

Forget Paris (1995)
6/10
Unfortunately if it’s a rom-com starring Billy Crystal we have no choice to compare it to When Harry Met Sally. This is not that. It hits some of the same notes and it’s style matches in a lot of ways. Forget Paris is my driven bus Billy Crystal himself. It’s a funny movie and you get A LOT of Billy Crystal humor. Still, the chemistry between Crystal and Debra Winger lacks strength, so the film slowly runs out of steam and kind of slowly comes to a halt at the end.
But if you want to see a rom-com with more NBA cameos than Space Jam, here it is.

Wake In Fright (1971)
extraction
7.5/10
good acting, but kinda generic overall
the one-shoot scene was great though
Gran Torino 8/10
Saw the ending coming from a mile away and the waterworks still started
revisited Man Escaped last night, 7 is about right. Country Priest is a hard 10
so are Sansho and General tbh
Tenant sucked s*** compared to the rest of Polanskis stuff up to then
Just wanted to say, I watched Ugetsu earlier this week and that’s a 10. Dunno why, but it hit a little harder than Sansho for me. Just means I’ll have to rewatch at some point
