blade 3.5/5
i feel like modern superhero actors forget that theyre supposed to be playing comic book characters. wesley snipes clearly didn't. movie has so much style/heart
This movie gets a lot right honestly, but the villain is trash & the cgi ☠️ imo
ive only seen a few mcu films and i started watching the spiderman movies and the first one is super meh

Blade II is super underrated.
One Cut of the Dead - 5/5
Funny enough, I literally made a short film in high school called EBIAS that had roughly the same structure of this movie (first half carefully edited with a number of “off” things that happen, and a second half featuring more raw footage that exposes the causes of those peculiarities and delves more into the background drama).
Re-watch (since it’s on criterion), but still an incredibly effective little movie. Love the raw look and cold camera work in this one, and, obviously, Michael Rooker’s performance.
Some movies ive recently seen for the first time which I thought were amazing:
Whered u see Passenger?

Coming home in the dark
4/5
Never thought the day would come where Playboi Carti was the first words uttered in a New Zealand based film
5/5
wow
One of the greatest
Young Frankenstein (1974) - 4/10. Only laughed at the werewolf joke
Belle De Jour (1967) - 6/10. Could not give less of a s*** about the main character
The Gospel According to St. Matthew (1964) - 9,5/10.
The ladykillers (1955) - 6/10. Pretty okay but outside of Guiness' slimyness it was rather unremarkable
Interstellar (2014) - 10/10. Seen in the cinema, looked every bit as gorgeous as you would think. The dialogue is a bit too on the nose but goddamn was I emotionally invested in this, had to fight tears 3 times
