I actually think watching Apocalypto followed by The New World is an incredible experience.
I actually think watching Apocalypto followed by The New World is an incredible experience.
I remember Apocalypto being alot more haywire than the other two, very immersive but closer to an action film than artful historical account. Also it's from the perspective of the native who's being conquered not the other way around. The other two are fun because you get to see colonizers s*** the bed horribly.
Zama another similar one I cannot recommend enough, one of that last films that really blew me away. Aruji put me on it in case you don't think my rec is strong enough

4/5
Was listening to a podcast they said this was the greatest heist movie ever made, and I do like a good bank robbery movie. Figured I had to check it out. Overall a good film.
Some things in the story that didn't really make much sense or were stretches in suspending disbelief. The relationship between Neil and Eady didn't seem all that real on screen. Seemed a very odd relationship and they tried to portray it as being more than that.
The ending especially felt weird to me considering Pacino's character looked to have completely lost Neil in the crowd at the hotel. Yet somehow managed to track him down after he climed down a large bush and runs onto an airport. His distance on Pacino seemed a pretty decent gap, him magically being on his tail was a stretch.
The Waingro plotline also seemed a bit extra and why such a proficient crew even needed the guy in the first play doesn't make much sense thinking about it.
That aside though, was a fun movie, enjoyed it for sure.

This lost me, the characters weren't really all that enthralling to follow and keep up with.
what other WKW films have u seen?

Definitely recommend watching the “Making of” doc that’s also on Netflix
This was probably my favorite movie of 2022. What a f***ing banger through and through
