I was waiting for the mask line to drop and I'm pretty sure Kenny knows how the culture has developed here in the states...it's awesome

It’s genius honestly. Cut past the culture war and call out what we REALLY don’t want to hear

Ye's first 5 albums are classics with "MBDTF" being his masterpiece.

Kendrick has 2 classics with "SXN80" & "GKMC" & 2 masterpieces with "TPAB" & "MM&TBS". "DAMN." could be considered a classic too.

Both are GOATS, but Kendrick really hasn't missed yet & I see no sign of him slowing down since he's a master of his craft & pen game's dumb.

Kanye hasn't wow'd me with an album since "Yeezus" & is hit or miss nowadays.

But yeah, to each their own.

Bruh the first 4 of Ye is clearing Kendrick. Respectfully.

Also putting TPAB and Morale in the same sentence as MBDTF is outrageous. Them s***s is not masterpieces. Bruh what. Actually what. Like huh. Nigga I can make a GOOD FRIDAY album better than TPAB and Morale.

GKMC is his crown jewel and none of these other s***s is close. I don’t know why ya act like they are.

Kendrick is better than HIS generation at putting albums together and that’s why he a legend. But na this Morale s*** not anywhere close to being better than any of Ye first 6 albums tbh. I’ll debate Pablo over TPAB and Morale.

If you're familiar with Ayn Rand, was individualism the same s*** that she was preaching or that's something else entirely? It's an interesting point you're making

Yeah basically ayn rand said that pursuing self interest wasn't just a necessary evil, but a virtue, and that it would yield the best results for society at large

    Wouldnt say that's kendricks message

His message is more like.. hey i tried to change things but i couldnt do it, so good luck guys ima go to therapy and fix my relationship

Dude really thinks Kendrick is arguing from the left wing collectivist perspective.

Nah fam, he’s being conservative, and at least moderate libertarian on here (which is good). He’s tired of the collective, he’s tired of the group think — which is where liberals and ā€œprogressivesā€ live.

That's not what I'm saying at all

I'm saying left-right paradigm, and even the individual/collective binary, is insufficient to capture what Kendrick's beef is

He clearly doesn't think that collectivity is not actually extant

There is such a thing as "the culture" as a synecdoche for the collective experiences that comprise the Black American ethny

But yeah he is tired of what you might call left-wing collectivism in a racial sense group think -- he said back in 2015 he was "tired of playing victim" and he's only moreso leaning in that direction

When i say salvation is predicated on an equality of men this is not a "no gods no masters" anarchist take

I'm saying that to Kendrick, we are all equal in the eyes of God, we are all equally capable of actualizing positive outcomes in our own lives

Which does not mean he is rejecting the theoretical utility of collectivism

He's simply saying that "the culture" is warped because it demands collectivity from him but individuals reserve the right to look out for their own interests ("Analyze, risk your life, take the charge/Homies done f***ed your baby mama once you hit the yard, that's culture")

Neither "collectivity" or "individualism" is possible without the other, because individuals comprise the collective and derive social and material recognition and satisfaction from them
