yeezywhats wrong with the 2nd disc it has some of the best songs
it's just not for me
i'm not gonna act like it's objective trash but i don't like it. it feels like the worst elements of DAMN pulled together. some of the writing is interesting but it's sonically boring to me and i think it feels way more like he's writing for himself than he is for me to listen to it. which is cool but like its music at the end of the day i want something i can listen to myself - Illermatic š°ļøMay 13, 2022Cliche

Warren PeaceI think so. itās why we see so many artists publicly self-destruct. i just think Kendrick is incredibly skilled at productively channeling his flaws into his art. he lays it all out there in his music and heās so skilled at doing so in his execution that itās shocking to people bc he has such a good image.
but no human being is perfect, we all have our darkness and a lot of his music is about conquering his own. like heās letting us listen to his personal therapy sessions while making a wider commentary at the same time. true artist s***
Great way to put it and it's true his music has just been a personnal diary from the start, it's actually crazy when I think about it the only other artist I know that has made his music his personnal diary while still having a more general commentary is Kanye
I really think Kendrick is the closest to Kanye we got so far

Heās very clearly inclined in that regard. Itās like he purposely chooses at times to make music that has little use beyond marveling at the subject matter which sucks IMO
ehh I feel like he did that with nearly all of DAMN. I have and still could bump the majority of that album in the whip. i remember most of the songs stayed on the radio in 2017-2018 so the general public was f***ing with it on that level too. it was a hell of a lot more āaccessibleā than TPAB to the point where iāve seen people criticize it for being too pop
