Congrats for seeing the light. Hope some dudes like ASAP RCKY come around.
Crazy someone named ASAP Rocky doesnât f*** with this album
I have The Power of Now and A New Earth. The Power of Now was cool. Just talks about the importance of staying in the present moment because thatâs where peace and bliss exist. Dwelling too much on the past or thinking too much about the future causes depression and anxiety. Iâm oversimplifying but thatâs basically what I remember from it. Havenât gotten to the other yet.

Money trees ( the beat and feature go crazy and them conceptual niggas got they d*** hard off it too so we all win ya bishhhh)
DNA beat switch and him spazzing is the hardest moment in music history. Second only to Massive Attack Mezzanine closing track

Iâve been seeing quite a few face turns on this album lol what made you change your mind
Because itâs a challenging album that can be off putting to some, and that makes the human mind curious and want to understand it better. They relisten and certain ideas sonically and lyrically come together and click.

she pretty as hell
You just wrote three paragraphs about it. Would you have done the same if he didnât repeat it so much?
I disagree with your premise because regardless if he repeated those lines or not, it's a song with a very distinct message about transgender people and homophobic slurs which I would have commented on regardless because it's one of the most noteworthy songs on the album because it tackles a difficult issue. my post would have been shorter, but how many paragraphs I write on a message board is besides the point. like most internet commenters, I write more about my critiques than the the things I love about something. e.g. my comment on Mother I Sober was just a simple sentence praising it. so yea the repetitiveness has me talking about it but I would rather have a shorter comment on it and ultimately listen to it and absorb its message 50 times instead of 25 times.
I understand that him saying a version of this sentence 10+ times throughout the song is the foundation of how he structured it and it was intentional. I think it would be more replayable if he didn't repeat this line every 8 bars or so, not because I hate the words but because it makes the song feel staggered, and none of the message would have been lost if he said this line less frequently.
but hey that's just my 2 cents. maybe to your point his song structure was important to getting his trans message out there.

the highlighter hair and the chain link dress?
yeah that's the one
The last verse on Mirror is definitely about NoName
Cause all of it's toxic
Girl, I'm not relevant to givin' on profit
Personal gain off my pain, it's nonsense
Darlin', my demons is off the leash for a moshpit
Baby, I just had a baby, you know she need me
Workin' on myself, the counselin' is not easy
Don't you point a finger, just to point a finger
'Cause critical thinkin' is a deal-breaker
Faith in one man is a ship sinking
Do yourself a favor and get a mirror that mirror grievance
Then point it at me so the reflection can mirror freedom
She told me that she need me the most, I didn't believe her
She even called me names on the post, the world can see it
Jokes and gaslightin'
Mad at me 'cause she didn't get my vote, she say I'm triflin'
Disregardin' the way that I cope with my own vices
Maybe it's time to break it off
Run away from the culture to follow my heart
Yep thatâs a Noname response 100%.
Crazy how Kendrick didnt mention French Montana here, i thought he wouldnt be that scared of him
he is not your savior
