I think weâre in an era where the casual music listener trumps everything unfortunately and all they want are digestible sounds that can easily take them out of the f***ed world. Niggas wanted that from Marvin and he gave them a breakup album instead of following up with the groovy I Want You album. That era was also peak disco too

Jun 2, 2022The only issue with the album that I have is that it should have been released 2 years ago. 5 years wait is too long for me to feel satisfied. And now I don't even know if he will release another album, at least in the next few years. This is my selfish point of view as a consumer, but as a fan Kendrick doesn't owe me s*** and Im happy that with the album he reset the expectations that we had about him as a musician, role model etc
