I was actually going to say in my post that listening like this allows me to discover hidden gems
Because songs I always thought were skips ends up hitting me one day. A recent example is Happy Valentines Day by Andre 3k. Always skipped it, but I let it play a few months ago and that verse at the end
Can't believe I was sleeping on it
Lol bro literally that same song, a lot of love below is like that for me I love it all now but took forever. I never thought Id like Happy Valentines Day but now its one of my favorites
I've listened to every other song multiple times. I just can't sit through all that "Fuck you nigga, nah f*** you b****"
Thatâs fine, I still donât really like Purple Hearts after all this time. Just overall as a body of work all the way through is a different experience then listening to every song separately at different times though.

I was just listening to TLB while walking my dogs a few minutes ago
I listen to it multiple times a week and I'm still picking up new things. I just caught that wordplay when he says "I can't read minds but I can read yours" on Spread when I listened to it a few nights ago
Might be my favorite album of all time

Love Hater is a mindblowing song man
Mr Morale not going into Mother I Sober doesnât really make sense
Lyrically one leads directly into the other
Yall gotta realize its more to sequencing than hard songs go together soft songs go together
I'll listen a bit more to feel your evaluation of it, Mitch. No need to generalize. We're all experiencing this s*** together mane.

I think about Robert Kelly
If he weren't molested, I wonder if life'll fail him
I wonder if Oprah found closure
The way that she postered the hurt that a woman carries
My mother abused young
Like all of the mothers back where we from
SSI bury family members
At the repass, they servin' Popeyes chicken
What you know about Black trauma?
F&N's kickin' back is another genre
Tyler Perry, the face of a thousand rappers
Using violence to cover what really happen
I know somebody's listenin'
Past life regressions to know my conditions
It's based off experience
Comma for comma, my habits insensitive
Watchin' my cousin struggle with addiction
Then watchin' her firstborn make a million
And both of them off the grid for forgiveness
I'm sacrificin' myself to start the healin'
Mother I Sober is in direct response to this, the theme of sexual assault isnât directly brought up until this verse even though he does hint at sources of trauma before hand. On Mother I Sober he opens up more in depth about how sexual violence has impacted his family, and then goes further onto the themes of rappers suffering from sexual assault that he brings up on these lines

I appreciate you
I appreciate you
And I wasnât saying you specifically but there are a lot of people itt saying stuff about the tracklisting just based on kinda surface listens because Iâve probably listened to the album around 80 times now and almost every track placing makes sense to me
I think of it less as a double disc and more of an album with 2 chapters, like how Cudi old s*** used to have chapters
I actually think that Diaries-Morale-Sober sequencing is the shakiest on the album lol I always feel like Mr. Morale should be earlier in the tracklist. Idk where I'd put it tho...maybe put Rich Spirit on disc 2
I think that's just because of the lack of transitions between the songs. Especially with auntie diaries into morale. If there was some tapdancing there or some of the choir singing it wouldn't feel as jarring
Wasnât paying attention at a red light with the windows down blasting We Cry Together and a car of three girls pulled up next to me and were staring

I feel that the cut off on Auntie Diaries is kinda abrupt but it feels like the last line ends when it does kinda like âaint that some s***?â idk how to explain it
But that transition is jarring

Nah for sure I've only listened maybe 5 or 6 times, so my observations are more off sound and feeling than the thematic narrative definitely. Which I think is also important, if to a lesser extent.

If they didnât know what u was bumping they not the 1s

Yea I agree. It's like a mic drop type thing

There's obviously intention there but I wish he did something different, like how he bleeps the name of some people or whatever. Like it needed an effect. The "niggy" just sounds funny and like a mistake lol

This is an album where I feel like the writing takes you everywhere it takes you intentionally. The songs writing wise are even contradicting almost at times because this album is more answer seeking than giving, but I feel like a lot of people havenât been able to really dive into the lyrics and I feel like youâre missing a lot of the experience without that element tbh.
Yea I agree. It's like a mic drop type thing
Yeah thats the way to describe it, i couldnt find the words for it

Yeah I feel that, definitely does sound a bit funny
