Chernobyl - 0/10
Really enjoyed the show up until around Ep 3 when I started looking up the names of the nuclear scientists, firefighters and politicians and they all criticized that HBO was completely inaccurate in how the events unfolded. The nuclear scientists were working together night and day to mitigate what happened, politicians in the Soviet Union were actually doing their best to save as many people as possible, most firefighters and the people standing on the bridge survived and are still alive, nobody had to sacrifice their lives for this, everyone that did choose to do so did it by themselves, the mine workers were never butt naked, at no point did anyone believe that the reactor core touching water would cause a megaton nuclear explosion. And btw you could get rid off most of the radiation on your skin by simply taking a shower which is what most hospitals did. You didn't start bleeding or and becoming disabled or dying from the level of radiation exposure at Chernobyl disaster, the only people that died right away were two plant workers during the explosion. The firefighter's wife gave birth and she and her child are alive and well. Even some of the post-credit information was inaccurate. I could go on and on. Like... this happened 30+ years ago. How could they get so much of what happened so wrong? The moments that pulled my heart strings during this show turned out to be completely untrue and that makes it manipulative and I really don't like when honest, hardworking scientists were being trashed here.
