different generations saw slavery differently too
what a spanking is the same as slavery now
getting the s*** slapped out of you every time you tried to touch a bag of skittles at the grocery store is the original keto diet

Spanking isn't the same, but most beatings get escalated into belt woopings and stories of children getting hit
Yall got to realize yall were abused in some form whether you think you were or not when parents actually hit their 4 to 10 year old kid???
If you want to be middle ground, the threat of getting hit can be the minimum lol

Abuse and physical discipline are 2 different things. In no instance would I say I was physically abused
You still are discrediting in a way though.
Is it though? Those two things aren’t a zero sum.
Being impacted by your negative life experienced shouldn’t stop you from having the agency/humility to do better by your daughter and do better by yourself.
Instead she came off as very dismissive of her actions as just a part of the black experience, and somehow even threw in a brag about being ahead of the curve on some of the toxic behavior. Just weird man, an apology and open discussion would’ve sufficed but my opinion doesn’t matter cuz I'm not Lauryn.
feel bad for Lauryn and her family. seems like things haven't been ok with her in a while.
Maybe vibesss twitter and hip-hop nerds will stop trying to hype her up as the "greatest"
She's the definition of a fad
You never heard Teddy Pendergrass but tryna call him trash...yeah definitely ain't no further conversation for me to have here
Smfh this site man
We shouldn’t spank our kids. That ain’t the way
But kids also need to stop trying to bury their parents for something that was definitely the norm especially in black culture. Doesn’t make it right, but at some point you just got to get the f*** over it and make sure not to do it to your kids if it means so much.
