  • Lets gather the evidence and we can discuss it and a***yze it fully.
Let’s start with the obvious, the use of the word “trill”.

In case you didn’t know, Trill is Houston slang for “too real”, Now Rocky is from New York. They have their own slang so why would he bite someone else if he has his own thing?

Now Big KRIT, a former collaborator of A$AP Rocky, has responded to the controversy taking down Rocky

    What do you guys think?
Is A$AP Rocky taking from the south?

People were. But it was just as corny then as it is now, like Jay Z and UGK didn't collab and Pimp C wasn't against petty intra-cultural beef.

Being from the south, I see it as a form of flattery- especially since it's all flavors of hip hop- also this also old as s***.

Also if you really wanna go that deep you can say the concept of an MC was ripped from the East Coast anyway.

“Like one of these days I'm gonna be a rapper
But all my verses gonna be borrowed
So I'ma take from all these Southern artists
    That mainstream never heard of
    Recycle all of they lingo
And make sure I screw my words up
    Bravo for your swagger-jackin'
    I'm overwhelmed by your dedication
You actually fooled these people into thinkin'
That your music was innovative” sounds to me it was aimed at Rocky

It’s not even appropriation because he

    • isn’t trying to credit himself with introducing that aesthetic
    • is actually portraying that end of Houston culture accurately
    • gives MUTUAL homage to major and legendary figures of Houston
    • regularly and actively partakes in Houston culture by working with and propping up Houston artists
