I fully had Drake still in my top 10 after the beef
Like closer to 5 than 10 too but after this lawsuit I think I need to evaluate it some
Id say he should still be Top 15 at least, where he fits in that is all subjective.
Perfectly said. I agree that he shouldn't be completely tarnished and he is taken out of the overall GOAT convo but I personally still have him top 1.
He’ll always be #1 on my personal list but definitely relying heavily on his previous work idk what bro is doin this days lol

Yeah I’d agree, i mean Drake is one of the greats point blank but I definitely think this law suit will have a terrible effect on his legacy Im legit shocked hes even doing it.
Dont get me wrong I’m sure UMG did do some illegal s*** for NLU just like they do for Drakes music lol but I just think a law suit after a beef will never be explainable to most hip hop fans. I think hes just worried about NLU being performed at the super bowl

Always one of the realest posters bruh. I know we all have our biases but you keep it objective fr

I love rap as a whole bro, I’m a fan/hater of all these dudes lol i think a lot of people love a specific rapper more than they love the culture itself
Appreciate u bro the feeling is mutual

I give Drake a lot of grace and he was always top 5 for me but I do agree with this depending on how this all plays out. It's in the air

Yeah especially if they really take this to court, my dad made an interesting point you never know the tactics UMG might use to f*** with Drake’s legacy. Like they have access to reference tracks, private info etc they could really do a character assassination that’s why I def wanna see how it plays out.
I still am kinda hard pressed to imagine a top 10 of all time that doesn’t have Drake in it, but man this damn Not Like Us will just not die
Like this is actually crazy, but then on the other hand you never know it Drake has some s*** up his sleeve too like maybe this lawsuit is for a reason we cant even think of
The references track thing was a really good point imo
I don’t think Drake can handle another batch of references leaking, especially if a more lyrical one leaks

Right this year definitely boosted Kendrick in this convo although NLU didn't remove Drake imo because even Ether made Hov cry and Drake still has some career left in him
This lawsuit however I think determines a lot legacy wise and like yall said you never know what Drake OR UMG will do

Yup
We got crash out mode Drake vs the machine
This is honestly the most interesting part of the whole beef so far which is crazy to say this deep in

That too because that'll be too many cracks in armor even though I know the pen is lioned
hes not in contention with the GOATS after this year lol he is quite literally one of the best rappers of all time
Eminem, OutKast, RZA, MF Doom, and Mos Def would like to say Hi
How many rappers have gone as long as Kendrick without making a less than solid album?
Since 2009:
Kendrick Lamar EP
Overly Dedicated
Section.80
Good Kid Maad City
To Pimp a Butterfly
Untitled Unmastered
DAMN.
Mr. Morale
GNX
By the end of an identical stretch of time, Kanye was putting out Jesus Is King.

Fr Crash Out Drake has be one of the most interesting Drakes ever
Almost every artist on his level has crashed out big time though it's just his turn

Mos Def is my favorite mc but his peak was not as long as Kendrick’s unfortunately
Prime Black Dante tho

He hasn’t missed yet
We are witnessing the rise of the true goat
He was the forefront during 2011? When IMO was the new golden age of hip-hop. The westcoast put alot of weight on his back but he’s still held onto it all these years. A true artist which are far and few these days

I definitely wonder how his crash out is gonna compare to Ye’s
Ye is obviously crazier but Drake has way more reason to crash out

I almost never entertain Ye/Dot comparisons just on the fact of GKMC/TPAB/DAMN being his commonly agreed best albums, and Kanye being able to match them with 3+ more albums on or above that level, along with their respective spectacles, performances, and eras
Dot just isn't there imo but just like with Drake, Dot still has some career left in him

It's going to come down to what you value, I think - consistent greatness or pioneering all-time classics. Kanye's ceiling is higher because he brought something brand new to rap, but his floor is really low.
At the rate the two of them are going, Kanye's discography is going to be a rich man's Eminem 15 years from now, with a lot of garbage making you want to forget how great he was. Meanwhile, I'm not sure it's possible for Kendrick to make a less than well-received album.

The industry and media complex will gas everything kendrick touches. It almost doesn't matter what he releases atp
this isn;t true of any of the past or current goats

fits right into that tier of people

That's a fair take and we'll just have to see discography wise. and I agree with the last sentence. This my be my Kanye bias but it terms of everything else that makes a rap artist a GOAT, it's hard to see Dot surpassing what Kanye did in his prime especially this far into his career
