I think the thing is that, while accessible, the accessibility of Mr. Morale was pretty subtle compared to the more blatant attempt at radio concessions we got on DAMN.

Both great records but Mr. Morale has a few songs that are relatively left-field. Doesn't make the record better or worse, but just shows how eclectic it was sonically. It's his fourth best imo

I'd see Kendrick paring down the rapping and incorporating more singers and some of his own melodies into there as well. A lot of great neo-soul records have a blend of rapping mixed in there so I think it could work

Hope so with some bare bones instrumentals and rapping over soulful vocals. No 808’s but just live instrumentations

Some realistic possibilities:

1. Kendrick fulfills his initial promise pre-COVID by dropping a Rock influenced album with collabs with Alternative/Indie bands

2. Kendrick puts out another commercial/crossover album similar to DAMN with a balance of introspection and catchy songs

3. Kendrick puts out an industrial Yeezus inspired album

4. Kendrick does a collab album with Keem

5. Kendrick drops another compilation album filled with unreleased songs

Would love to see him, though it's def not necessary, to dip into some of the proggy type of s*** we were getting on TPAB too. Kendrick is so good at rapping, songwriting, and curating his beat selections and damn near co-producing some of them that I think the results could be sick

Like I don't wanna sound like some pretentious nerd but I just love progressive song structures man. Certainly not a need for a song to be good but a well done progressively structured song is like a mini-album of its own

MMTBS is the album with the lowest replay value to me. I simply can't enjoy the music because the lyrics are too overwhelming and it always puts me in a depressive mood. I definitely need an album to vibe to, musically, like the Hillbillies which is in constant rotation since its release. It is time for Kendrick to enjoy himself. With MMTBS he said that he is not perfect, we shouldn't expect him to be flawless neither as a person nor as an artist. I think that he feels relieved now and will put something more commercially oriented to help Keem and pglang
