The reason some people call Morale a flop is because the expectations were higher than TPAB

Always happens with long waits, people assume artists are writing their best ever work. Reality was covid f***ed up any chance to tour which is a big reason why he loves releasing albums, and he admittedly had a writer block

I will never expect him to top TPAB again cos quite frankly, as a Kendrick fan, its just that goddamn good. Im just happy that each album is a different type of listening experience and thats a guarantee for the next one

It will always be different than the previous, cant say that for alot of mainstream artists these days

I feel the same way. He'll probably never top TPAB but then who could lol. He's just set the bar extremely high, and he's the only one even making hip-hop music on that level.

Every artist has a peak and if it's TPAB for Kendrick with GKMC following shortly behind, what else could we ask for as fans? He's truly one of the best to ever do it.

It'll be interesting to see what he does next since he's only 36 and has nothing left to prove. Neil Young had one of the greatest runs of all time from 1969 to 1979 and then spent the next decade f***ing around doing what he felt like doing in his mid 30s to early 40s before starting another great run from 1989 through the mid/late 90s. I could see Kendrick going way out there now that he's doing his own thing with pglang.

If Kendrick wants to experiment for a while knowing his legacy is cemented, that would be great. On the other hand, I would also enjoy him experiencing more commercial success. What I would like most is for him to work with those on the cutting edge of production like Kanye started doing in his second decade. Imagine Kendrick on production as forward-thinking as Yeezus was.

Can’t remember if it was here or the leak site but they said he had a rock album and a keem collab album before settling on morale

would love to hear both of those, specifically the rock album in conjunction with how he been dressing since hillbillies. Saw him shout out taz Arnold too…that could be interesting aesthetically and sonically

Idk why people think Mr Morale didn’t have humor Lmfao

There’s plenty of humor on that project.
    “bitch I’m attractive”
“Pushing the snakes pushing fakes pushing them all off me like HUUUh”
    Just to name a few

"I don't know how to feel...
    Like the first time I f***ed a white b****"

then the pause afterwords with "oooOOOooo "
I deadass don't think I've laughed harder at a moment in hiphop this decade

  • Aug 21, 2023

Think he’ll make a fun album

Probably talk about the uncertainty of hip hop and the rap game in general

I don't think he's gonna do a super thematic album like his main 3 imo

thats fine but he and keem bring out the worst in each other

Btw his verse on that Beyonce remix makes me think he's still hungry
And him making an alt IG that seems way more informal seems to be marketing for more commercial music - but that's just speculation on my part

he def wants to have more fun this time around

The last thing we need from Kendrick is another "accessible" record.
Are people forgetting that over half of MM&TBS was already radio bait music?

But yes he will definitely make some fast food garbage like The Hillbillies

  • I was hoping for an aftermath produced album but it’s dead now

  • Aug 21, 2023

    Why? The last album sucked

  • Like I told my homie before Mr. Morale and The Hillbillies was evidence, just creative, fun bars over hard ass beats. Sound of Bad Habit/Die For My B**** by Kendrick type s***

it was so bad it turned kendrick stans into sales experts like drake stans, yawn

if it was good we would be speaking on it's musical merit not it's commercial record

Niggas do be speaking on the musical merit, you niggas just don't wanna listen because it's easier to hate
