Most people who comment on these pages aren’t even the new gen tho. Them young niggas are in school, on tiktok/YouTube, listening to music and keeping snap streaks alive. Majority IG/Twitter users are 23+

Reading this thread I think most people here are over estimating the amount of genuinely right wing people in normal society.
Especially frat boys, I graduated last year, and even the frat boys at my school were pretty left leaning.
Also, I would hesitate to say that that article about trans people supposedly being mad at that song is right wing in and of itself. It seemed like it was just reporting on something they thought was true. Comments and reactions may have been right wing, but the headline looked unbiased.
It IS really insightful to me to see someone straight up say “I saw an article that made trans people look bad and I unfollowed the account immediately,” though. I’ve been curious about how everything has become so radicalized and “us vs them” to most people who are politically active and I feel like I understand why a little better now.
That being said, if the people who claimed to be offended at the song were not trans and simply just imitating them to make them look bad, as appears to be the case, then it is the responsibility of the publication to take the original article down and publish an update containing the new information.
Lastly, just to get ahead of possible misconceptions: I do not support transphobia, I do not support either what I consider to be the “popular” left or the “popular” right, and, furthermore, I wish more people could just be f***ing normal, politically speaking, and not do evil or degenerate s*** and then weaponize politics to defend themselves and their actions, as is common among both major and popular political “teams.”

Man this nigga right here federal

I really think we, as Americans, all live in different versions of the same country based on our perception of it, and how it’s shaped by what we observe.
I’m not saying that there are no right wing people, or that they hold no power, but I am saying that you may think the situation is worse than it really is because of what you observe.
From my IRL experience and what I observe on sites like this or social media, I would estimate that most Gen Z-ers are left leaning, with many of those that are also being what I would consider to be heavily left leaning. And while I know that the country is more than gen z, they’re probably the most important demographic politically speaking, since they’re gonna be the ones to inherit the country and make the decisions when they do. I mean, look at how gen z voted at the midterms. They basically held off a red wave all on their own.
Back to the main thing though, I’d say that this issue of Americans living in different versions of America based on their perception is a big part of what’s causing so much tribalism and radicalization.
It’s a big issue, but I think that msm being unreliable and all citizen journalism being biased in one way or another is really contributing to it, along with the fact that people tend to only want to consume news media that already caters to their existing beliefs and biases. And then, how that leads to the “us vs them” mentality that is unironically the leading cause of 90% of all the f***shit going on. It’s all connected, and sadly, that makes it even harder to fix.
Also, I’m not a fed, I would NEVER work for any government, much less the US one, come on now

Not looking for excuses, I still think they’re tabloid tier at best.
Besides, from what I’ve seen, they have not taken down the original article despite it being debunked, so they are still not moving in a way that I would consider ethical.

Like Im a black man in America I can't just assume everyone in this country has the best intentions and ignore the people voting in politicians and Police chief's who make my life harder.

I can't just go "oh people will get better and it's just the media" like nigga this is my life I know things are bad because I experience and people like me experience systemic oppression throughout this country.
