But that doesn’t make any sense at all.

Kendrick is one of the biggest rappers on the planet and gets acclaim. Travis Scott’s last album was critically well received, pop artists of all kinds are also getting great reviews.

Maybe the music just isn’t that great to a lot of people, people always gotta attack their character or some s*** to reconcile with it while all the while claiming they actually don’t care.

Very much like Drake himself tbh.

it’s crazy that rap has been so dominant both creatively and commercially during the 2010s and they there isn’t a Black critic who has anywhere near the platform of someone like Fantano

there’s more white people in the world they would rather hear from someone who looks like them

    which is fine idc

but at lot of them on here are disrespectful as s*** to black art while being a visitor

it really isn’t for you lmaoooo that’s not cap

it’s not even for teens either kids hate drake nowadays

    i’m not even 30 yet

it’s just people picking and choosing arguments to defend drake. i get it. we all do it

lets not act like drake still isn’t top tier for young kids too. they grew up only knowing him at the top of the game. it’s like people who grew up when jay was in his prime, they would argue he’s at the top

So the non black kids who go to kanye and drake shows are in a space they dont belong? See idk if i agree with that. It only becomes a space they dont belong in when they have a negative or ignorant critique of the music

I mean they are customers and apart of the community but these people are guest in my culture yes

    strongly agreed OP.

Music at the end of the day is subjective. Like what you like. Don't let anyone change your opinion on something you enjoy.

You can legitimately make a case that

DEHH could easily be as big as Fantano if they reviewed albums as quick as him. By the time they review that s*** people have moved on

then make the choice to ignore them.

if the problem is you saying "i like x album" and someone responds by saying "x album isn't good because y said so" simply ask them to explain their own stance. reviewers only have power over those too afraid to make their own stance on music

I mean personally I don’t care and never have cared from any type of publication I just go off what I like and a general consensus feel but I see what you’re saying as well

I will make sure that this next generation there will not be a fantano or Adam 22 or any popular white man reviewing black art

it will be one of us. we need black folk talking about our own art more often.

White people identify with white people

    "Rap Twitter" is 90% white

    Rap subreddits are 90% white

Black peoples don't really discuss music on the internet like that

I think what people forget is white people are like 80% of america. If something is largely popular in America, the fans will be mostly white. Just how it works.
