Government subsidies and low interest loans

Same s*** that helped them start their businesses originally.

Will interest rates not go up as a result of dis?

No, theyll be low to get the economy going again.

Here in canada, interest rates are at record lows atm, and they might go into the negatives for the first time ever.

Again, u need the government to ensure this s*** happens... But this situation is nothing like the 1940s.

If u have any money to invest at all, p soon is gonna be the perfect time to actually be able to get ahead for once. U wont get a better opportunity to make significant investment gains in your life.

Governments at the time 1 still cared about debt and surpluses, they dont anymore.

2, it costs a lot more to fund war, than it does to shelter in place.

All ppl need are low interest, or maybe even negative interest, loans, and a few programs to help startups. Its not 1940 anymore.

If u dont think business owners in 2020 will be immediately trying to reopen their businesses, idk what to tell u.

    Naive

3% of restaurants have already closed permanently.

    They're never coming back.

They expect an 11% permanent closure rate by the end of April.

This will be a permanent scar

Wat if d owners cant aford 2 run and own business anymore

This, when a business sits its costing thousands of dollars worth of utilities and rent every month.

Rent space for a business is probably 4x to 5x that of a home or apartment.

That business owner will cut the rope instead of drowning and digging further into horrendous debt

And u think that when this virus is dealt with, that these THOUSANDS AND THOUSANDS of cooks and servers are just gonna sit on welfare, or find an entirely new line of work?

Nothing is stopping johnny the cook, from opening johnnys pizzaria in the exact same location his old boss, billy, had billys pizzaria.

    Yeah like YEARS later

They're not going to bounce back up like wack a mole, people are going to avoid restaurants for the whole year probably.

Opening back in the midst of the aftermath is ed

Some will do it, and they'll go right out of business

When infection numbers are so low that everything starts getting reopened... Why would ppl be avoiding restaurants?

Before businesses were closed, did ppl avoid outtings? P sure floridas beaches were packed full of idiots.

Isnt that why everything is shut down atm? Since theres no point telling ppl to isolate, just to turn around and tell them to spread it at work?

U know where the economic fear mongering is really coming from?

The 1% who are scared s***less of the redistribution of wealth.
Its a forced reset button, and the little guy might get 1 or 2 advantages that the big guys are accustomed to hoarding for themselves.

On top of that no one will go to restaurants because of the massive incoming unemployment rate.

FED expects 32% unemployment rate by the 2nd quarter

No one is going to dine out pretty soon 1/3 or at best 1 out of 4 Americans will be JOBLESS

And they won't find jobs easily, and when they do they'll be low wage positions.

You're downplaying the economic devastation that's going to unfold

    I havent downplayed anything

It isnt 1940, 50% of the population isnt incapable of working (in fact theyll be desperate to get back to work)

And of the 50% that can work, 1/3 arent missing limbs
