What? Months of accruing debt with 0 profit will put thousands of small businesses permanently out of business. Potentially millions of jobs with be lost. Corporations will decrease hiring and cut costs to recoup their losses. This will take serious time to bounce back from, and the longer it goes on the worse things get and the less likely a quick recovery becomes.

    Naive

3% of restaurants have already closed permanently.

    They're never coming back.

They expect an 11% permanent closure rate by the end of April.

This will be a permanent scar

Exactly. People on the internet keep talking bout “who cares if stockholders lose some profits!! lives are at stake!!” That s*** is naive as hell, I already know tons of people that have lost their jobs, millions of lower and middle class people are facing very real, very bad situations right now.

The scariest part is this is is just the very beginning stages.

And u think that when this virus is dealt with, that these THOUSANDS AND THOUSANDS of cooks and servers are just gonna sit on welfare, or find an entirely new line of work?

Nothing is stopping johnny the cook, from opening johnnys pizzaria in the exact same location his old boss, billy, had billys pizzaria.

I work in a restarant n none of d chefs servers or any of us r in a position 2 just start ar own restaurant if there's low intrest rate busines loans availabl.

Then go apply for welfare when unemployment runs out, while others make moves.

Negative interest rates would have banks paying u.

Any small business in an area on lockdown shouldve already closed their doors. If everyones lost their job, wtf are the owners keeping the lights on for?

Nothing is stopping them from starting back up. Theyll VERY likely be incentivized to.

unfortunately i think there wont be redistribution of wealth. the wealthy are having a sale on stocks rn. they can afford to buy up and hold what the middle class is losing right now...
