No white person in america freely said nigga, especially with the -er, without knowing how that would be received outside of their group of edgy white friends, not the same with the f word, that's why it's different bc it's about actual growth from learning a different perspective that they werent aware of that just was never the case with nigga
Firstly, my thread is about the f***ing instrumental.
Secondly I wish people would give a little grace surrounding “that word.” I’ve talked to people in person, and they loved what Kendrick had to say. What he raps about is indicative of the experience of so many people who didn’t know any better then and are trying to do better now, myself included.
From my experience “that word” has only really been “outlawed” for the past 10ish years, and especially recently has its infamous status reached that of nigga, which funnily enough I can actually type out.
Kendrick’s song says so much about SO much else, but that’s really all you hear? An average person can listen to the song and empathize in how hard it is for anyone to simply be themselves, religion vs humanity, the value of standing up w others, baby Kendrick being young and not knowing any better, but no y’all hear “that word” and try to twist s*** into things it isn’t, couldn’t be and never was.
also, no more comparisons of “that word” to nigga. Y’all are getting out of hand

ya whatever mr. man 👍
is this the official instrumental? how?
Nah it’s just got the vocals scrubbed out. After the first couple bars, you can hear a change in sound quality
I don’t like the f word and nigga comparisons I think y’all need to stop it’s annoying
Isnt that exactly what Kendrick did though
He could have found a more elegant way to talk about the f word without directly saying it
H****homo h****we can say it together
I don’t like the f word and nigga comparisons I think y’all need to stop it’s annoying
🤔 and why is that? You seem like you missed the point of the song
The way it starts to swell after ‘mr preacher man should we love thy neighbour? the laws of the land or the heart, what’s greater?’ is so nice. Love the jazzy/marching drums that get louder
Love that part too
Instrumental

a lot of white people grew up using the n word because it was the cool thing to do
if a white person made a song where they shouted the n word a bunch of times as the chorus to say “i used to say this but now i know it’s wrong” in the year 2022, how would you react?
They did?
this new gimmick is f***ing abysmal bro
?
I’m just being me bro
