Okay. This thread took a pretty dark turn.

My advice for OP would just be to listen to whatever he wants but understand that rap still has a large audience. It may not be for us as much as it used to be but I read the comments to songs from Rod Wave and Polo G from kids/teens saying how impactful and touching the songs are for them.

I've seen a teen say on the "Through The Wire" video that the song saved his life.

Now, of course, as a mid-20's rap fan I strongly prefer the original to Rod Wave's version but I still respect that he's saving some lives with his music.

Also, try listening to instrumental hip hop from Nujabes, J Dilla, Madlib, Fat Jon, Flying Lotus, Emancipator, Uyama Hiroto, and Pete Rock. Their music can be very calming and soothing.

this is a ridiculous statement lmfao.

its very easy to lose the love for something. You can truly something and then when it changes you lose love for it. or YOU change and that thing is no longer appealing to you

Rap is too broad to apply to this and anyone who thinks it does is intellectually lazy

    Hey bro I’d recommend this,
Time travel to 10th grade of high school
    Have a pandemic start midway
Spend a whole year lonely in lockdown and being assaulted with a big amount of school work
Spend most of your time on forums
    Become a p*** addict
    Worked for me

Idk why this lame ass post got 3 likes. Must be cause of the AK smiley.

music in general just sucks nowadays its like mental candy, its good for like 5 minutes, i remember when Rodeo dropped and how intricate and theatrical that album was to me, last time I felt that way about an album was DAMN. now its just pointless music with pointless lyrics and people only give a f*** if its charting

I don’t care as much to find new rap music, I still do just not as much.

But I wouldn’t say I lost my love for it

It’s cool to lose your passion for music I just don’t like when people blame the art itself. The genre is absolutely thriving rn it’s either fatigue depression or it’s just not your thing n that’s fine
