Plan is for the site to start to heavily automate a lot of the more straightforward modding decisions (obviously with human auditing) which will help an enormous amount if done right

We actually want more threads is the thing
The problem is that these are the threads that get the most engagement and provide the least value
honestly it’s sort of up to this site to just not engage with obvious bait if we’re keeping it a buck
there isn’t much that can be done other than outright banning the embeds and/or instating some arbitrary character limit etc.

This is best post. People been begging for any type of communication from mods after a lock/ban/mute
Not gonna act like I haven’t advocated for it myself but modding sucks as is and the idea of people coming back constantly and appealing things is off putting
And a lot of mod decisions while I think correct are less clear cut than ideal - that’s just the nature of it and if that wasn’t the case there would be serious problems
Like think about a racist dogwhistle - they are so prevalent generally because the person doing it maintains deniability. Stuff like that makes it really hard for us to moderate effectively while being fully transparent

maybe there could be something to do with reply count or something tied to an account in the future system. just some way to differentiate between the users who actually engage in discussion. not like some reddit type karma s*** tho. S probably thinking of this already though

He said he didnt care if it was a child in the picture he posted because he was spreading the truth. Thats the absolute worst moderating iv seen on ktt since 2015. He came back on an alt to say he didnt get banned for the child p*** part, he got banned for telling a person to kill themselves in another thread

With how reddit is now, I don't think a vote system is a good idea here at all, would not incentivise people to stay imo

But having a system that could just subtly deprioritize engagement bait and prioritize better discussion would let people make all the twitter threads they want without crowding out constructive threads
