it's a great sister projec to faces
similar d*** addled vibe, but less like rock bottom / desperate than faces felt.

amazing project. wmwtso/faces era was my favorite era of mac and this project was like a gift from him. STONED and Funny Papers are amazing, top tier mac songs, and He Finally Sleeps was a journey as well.

i felt like the album petered out towards the end. Uber is a good song with or without the Mike jones feature, though it did feel out of place here, and neither the 12 minute ballad at the end or the bonus track felt like good closers.

imo, they should take off colors+shapes and uber, since they're already out on Faces, and maybe add one or two more unreleased songs on as bonus tracks.

release it as the lost mac album. from what i heard, it was far enoguh along to release without disrepecting his legacy. obviously those who are closest to him (his brother, etc) would know more about his wishes etc but it would be a shame imo if more people didn't get to hear this stuff.

if wmwtso is a 8.6/10 and faces is a 8.8/10, this is probably like a 7.0/7.5-ish. really good album and i'm really glad to have found it. if you read this whole review and haven't heard the album, pm me and i'll send you a link.

Funny Papers, Stoned, Mrs. Deborah Downer and Friendly Hallucinations are all top tier Mac songs. Would be such a shame if these songs didn't get an official release
