season 6 feels like overall it was one of the most samey season's of the show, but the final few episodes was some real incredible stuff. the finale man that look don gives sally gave me chills. the man is just tired :cryfam:
idk where i rank it cause i watched season 1+2 SO long ago. can feel this having a rewatch lined up real fast lol

What do you mean by samey?

felt like it was retreading some beats it felt like it's touched on. just in the previous seasons up to this point we were seeing larger developments in characters, etc. it wasn't bad but definitely a down tempo moment in the writing to me. it did a good job setting up dons final spiral tho.
just finished ep 3 of season 7 tho and man im loving this season already. everyone seems to have varying opinions on season 7 and it's first half/second half but so far so good to me

Nigga called a literal ‘50s housewife a “pick me”

I partially agree with the first part, but I also think that’s the point. Season 5 is like a life reset for Don, new wife, new house, etc. and Season 6 is him falling and crashing back into what he is.
I do agree that it’s not a great season for secondary characters.
I’d still never describe Season 6 as samey tho. I think it sticks out the most of the 7 seasons, being something that the rest of the series isn’t. So much gets crammed into it that a lot of it gets forgotten, and they do away with a lot of the nuance that made Mad Men special. I’m sure there’s intent behind that as well, I think it’s needed as we witness Don’s spiral… very wild stuff.
