You think he is better in possession than Pogba? I haven’t seen anything from Van De Beek last season that added anything to our game that either Pogba McTominay or Fred don’t also have. He doesn’t run as much as Fred or McTominay or make more interceptions. And doesn’t have a good long cross ball in him to shift the playing field like Pogba has. VDB should be mainly used as an extra attacking threat imo. But if we are already playing with three attackers + Bruno I don’t see a place for him in our starting XI. We’d have to play with 4 midfielders then.

Man's been drilled at Ajax since a kid, literally a system focused on possession and working really hard off the ball.

I think we should just put last season out of our minds in regards to him. Didn't get him at his best for numerous reasons. Ajax's season was cancelled in March, he got 2 games pre-season I believe, had the greatest living Dutch footballer trashing his transfer by October, never got consistent game time, etc. Is what it is.

So many things Pogba brings to our team that Donny just doesn't have. Donny is not doing those insane pings to Rashford up top or doing those elite finesse shots in the games that we need them

That's what the DM and Bruno can provide.

Let VDB do what Herrera did, and Fletcher, and Park at times.

    Rice?

@Drogon_ need your a***ysis on Rice, I think he’s good, but a bit overhyped he’s not 80+ million player and no where near the levels of a Kante

What do you think of Bissouma? Think he has the qualities needed for a top side

Who are we going after first after getting Sancho? I can see Ed being satisfied and call it a summer.

If Varane is available for only 50 million then him if not there on about that Pau Torres so idk think it’s most likely we are getting a CB and maybe a midfielder if Pogba goes

Aint watched him enough tbh to give a valid opinion. Do agree with what you said about Rice. I think its gonna be a really difficult position to fill.

Fair points but VDB is young enough that he can be molded into something different/add things to his game whereas Pogba is more or less a finished product.

Look at Wijnaldum - played mostly CAM at PSV then LM/AM at Newcastle and now is a good box to box midfielder. VDB himself has said he's comfortable as a 6/8/10. Now that doesn't mean he's great in all those positions yet but his game can develop to fit our needs whereas we know for sure where Pogba is best and we won't get his best in the current team without sacrificing others.

When you have someone like Dalot is there really any point in signing Trippier who will cost United quite a bit (30-40mill)
Signing another RB is not exactly a priority area we need right now.

Initially I thought Trippier would be a great addition, but then again we don’t know how much United are going to spend overall and again I’d rather they made more effort to sign a quality CB to partner Maguire

    Ole is a p****, man.

For me, it makes absolutely sense to keep someone like Dalot. He does not fit in this squad at all. Same thing with Lingard, same thing with Juan Mata, same thing with Matic, hell even Dan James if we get Sancho. You sell all of them and that's like 50 million you could bring in. This is what clubs do.

I take it you meant ‘no sense’? But yeah I see your point. Sell Dalot to invest in better players, then again this is United we are awful at selling players. But with us looking at a RB it’s a bit silly tbh idk AWB was meant to be the guy for that position and he cost a lot and if you buy Trippier whose a La liga winner he will definitely want guaranteed 1st team action. And I don’t think AWB will be like Telles and be happy to be a rotational player next season

Bissaka is a good rightback tho, it’s just that we have no one else in that position to play cup games/to rest him. No need for someone like Trippier at all imo.

My exact thoughts, rather we kept Dalot as he can be the rotational RB. I don’t believe Ole genuinely likes him, think he’s just saying he does so that his price doesn’t drop

Trippier would/should be our first-choice RB. Which yeah doesnt seem to make a ton of sense given what we spent on AWB.

Can definitely get behind keeping Dalot. Gained some decent experience with Milan. Just gotta actually rotate. Far better option than Williams.

Clear to see by the end of the season that AWB had improved at going forward too. He'll get better with Sancho ahead of him - an actual winger as opposed to inside forward.

Yeah, my b. We're such a clusterfuck. Was hoping with Murtough as DoF things would at least LOOK different, but so far it's a dumpster fire.

Trippier is also starting for England whereas AWB didn't get into the squad and might have to play for Congo instead. So it, similarly to DDG and Hendo, adds another thing the media will latch onto when AWB has a bad performance. It's just goofy, man. AWB hasn't been an issue. His positioning isn't great and he isn't good going forward but he's been relatively consistent in my mind. Definitely not enough to spend 40 mill on a RB when we have gaping holes in CDM

I'd be down for Ramos if not for the injury history. Think his mentality would do wonders for this team. Do think Sancho is just a matter of time and fingers crossed for Trippier, dude was nothing spectacular at Spurs but I guess working with Simeone has made him solid defensively and we know his attacking game is great.

Same I wouldn’t be against us getting Ramos given his experience and winning mentality. Be very much like what Blanc gave us and even Thiago Silva has proven that age doesn’t matter at all with his performance for Chelsea last season
