Dayum this is right in my alley but i just hate reading manga that isn’t finished
Need this to finish soon
Also reading this to balance out Uzumaki
I dunno if it's just me but he looks more slender here
the way his long hair fall over his thin neck and broad shoulders

I have been taught this thought process that says ''appreciate today'' or ''live in the present'' so most of the time I dont care about endings as much as I do about the ride
I'm just rambling but I think that's where the anime/manga-feeling empty-afterwards- stems from
like when we spend days watching/reading something we expect more grand endings than 2-3 pages of vague endings
but to be on topic....I'd say start this once it's finished cause I'm so sucked into it atm I'm reading on impulse

Yeee there’s some panels where he looks more slender... he not as much of a pmf as he is in the anime but that might change when he gets the haircut

I feel you on appreciating the ride. I’m actually a fan of vague endings with loose ties but I got it on my radar so hopefully it won’t take a million years to finish

Here's another personal favorite of mine that for some reason gets overlooked. It's a slice of life/mystery manga about a ''weird'' shop with ties to japanese folklore and mythology
It's such a chill read full of symbolism and hidden meanings to the point where every chapter feels fresh instead of repetitive....
I watched the anime when it aired like a decade ago but the manga is not just ''better''....the fact that the setting is so unique makes the silence of reading it get deeper into it and get lost in its world
The characters are all colorful with a lingering mystery/uncertainty about them...it is funny but it's not the stupid kind of funny but more like the brief smile and wholesome type of funny
the art is not anything spectacular but I dont think this is the kind of manga that needs fantastic art. It does get its point across....here's a few pages below
I wish I had enough $$$ to cop all the omnibus volumes
Anyone else prefer reading manga over watching anime, anime be dragged tf out, the f***ing power point slides longer than the panels when you read them. Still, some anime have really good animation in fights and colors and music are crucial to some shows. Like AOT the anime is definitely the definitive version of AOT, i can’t imagine reading the manga and missing out the amazing animation, unique artstyle and Hiroyuki Sawanos incredible OST. My problem is knowing when i’m supposed to read or watch a show, i don’t wanna miss out on the definitive version of a show and i don’t have the time to watch a show and read it. How do yall handle this?

Got in an argument over this the other day while trying to convince my friends to read CSM. When it comes down to it I feel like you either appreciate the art, skill or journey through a grand story of manga or you don’t. While yes anime is a take on the same material there are countless examples of source material not being done justice, animated like s*** or like you said overly drawn out. Hell I HAD to stop watching Naruto or I would have grown to hate it bc of how slow it moved.
As far as whether you should read stuff over watching it, I chose to read the stuff that has interested me after watching some of the show or seeing some really well done panels. Tokyo Ghouls anime did the manga no justice animation or story wise but the manga was amazing in all the aspects the anime fails in (Art, story, atmosphere). I started AOT manga after watching a couple eps of S2 and being bored s***less, the manga was completely worth it at the time bc there was so much more content I could skip the boredom. Same with JJK I started the manga after finishing season 1 and thirsting for more. Yet with CSM I’ve read the manga so now I’ll watch the anime in return. It all depends.

What’s the best manga you’ve all read purely from a visual standpoint?
Haven’t read much manga but Tokyo Ghoul:re is one of the first that comes to mind. Of course Berserk.
Although I haven’t read it yet, I’ve seen some beautiful panels of land of the lustrous
Berserk is just on another level of art
