I read the first volume. I heard a lot about it before I started it and it sounds like something I'd like but for whatever reason it just didn't click. I thought Denji was a little childish but there really wasn't anything bad about it, when I finished the volume I didn't really feel the desire to keep reading.

Maybe the hype had just got to me and because it didn't immediately grab me I decided to drop it. But now that I'm further removed from that and into a similar story it might do something for me. I'm gonna start it again today.

Finished Chainsaw Man today, I ended up enjoying it more than I expected but it had a really slow start. It honestly took like 40 chapters before I felt like the story really started to pick up. I've heard people talk s*** about Makima so I knew something was up with them but I didn't know what and I knew nothing else except for what I read before.

All the twists and shock moments really hit hard except for Reze I thought it was pretty obvious they were gonna be a villain. Everything else was great though.

I'm pretty indifferent to Denji still though. I feel like the supporting cast was/is so much stronger than him as characters. He got some nice development towards the end and it seems like he'll get more in Part 2. I can't really pinpoint what didn't click with me about him but I overall just think he's a fine mc right now. Power and Himeno were easily my favorite characters. I kept waiting for a moment where Himeno would somehow be alive and comeback but it never happened

I think the anime will definitely elevate the story and make it even better. Fujimoto's art is so cinematic, it's gonna be really cool to see it in motion. I know Part 2 starts on wednesday and I'll def keep reading.

Didnt know pt 2 starts wednesday. Loved pt 1. Read it in a couple days. Agree w your criticism on Denji tho

The horror is definitely more psychological than gore or body horror but I highly recommend it so far!

There's apparently around 40 official colored chapters, so not the whole manga. I just went back to reading the regular one lol
