You gotta stretch OD now if you want that style. that style is really tricky to develop
It's weird, it's almost as if you have to do karate as a kid to develop it because mcgregor is the only guy off the top off my head that really developed that style as an adult
If you do want to develop that style you gotta do a lot of hopping to burn out your calves and stretching. I wish I stretched earlier cause it would would way easier now lol. I started way too late with that style.
Yeah exactly like you said, you basically gotta grow up with that s***. Cejudo did it too but it helped that he's an Olympic wrestler so someone catching the lead foot wasn't any real fear for him
I have been meaning to up my mobility and stretching regardless though
Bruh don't put your number on here lmao, just let them PM you
Niggas p****
working on my boxing rn its so fun tbh
Any particular part of your game?
a new mcdojo always moves into this vacant spot in this one shopping center near me. its been cardio kickboxing, krav maga, kung fu, karate etc. everything you can think of
I kind of want to give some Karate system a try. I'm fascinated by Kyoji Horiguchi's and Robert Whittaker's styles of blitzing in and circling out quickly but I imagine even they don't practice karate at all anymore and rather they just adapted the footwork into their boxing/kickboxing/mma training. I'm not trying to do kata either
savate has always drawn my interest. it combines kickboxing with some boxing technique. it was an olympic sport ages ago.
sanda mixes in punches, kicks, knees AND throws as well. theres some really cool martial arts that derived from asia that combine punching/kicking with grappling. pretty cool stuff
Was an amateur boxer at one point, if anyone’s got questions. Also did Greco-Roman & a little BJJ as a jit.
Mostly got boys that just stay strapped now though

Man all the cool smaller styles are hard for me to get to lol, sad

when i was at a strip club like 2-3 years ago i was talking to the manager and somehow we started talking about fighting and martial arts.
he told me it was a little harder to get security guards/bouncers or keep them for a long time because dudes they were trying to kick out the club were going for kimuras and chokes and s***.
MMA really went mainstream and now in street fights and physical altercations mfers know how to break your arm or choke you out

same for me, i searched up a legit school to learn savate and there are like 5 in the entire united states. most are in france

MMA has certainly mainstreamed combat, and sort of gave it the “fast-food” treatment. Everybody with a tapout shirt & who’s watched some highlight reels on YT think they know what a fight is.
All it takes is for one of those silverback type bouncers to suplex you on ya neck & you’re done. No flashy s***
Whats the best and easiest 1 to get into for self defense purposes?
Muay Thai or boxing, can’t go wrong.
Any particular part of your game?
just offence atm, started with kickboxing but i realized my kicks are insane but my punches kinda stayed the same level for the last few years

I already heavily considered boxing
I have 2 herniated discs tho, u think imma be cool? I cant really lift weights coz of that so Im looking for something else I can get into
Used to do Juijitsu/Karate/Taijutsu when I was a kid. Loved that s***. Got ill so I had to stop many things. Do you guys know kata(s)?
Cant wait for the gyms to reopen getting right back into boxing/kickboxing like i never left
Whats the best and easiest 1 to get into for self defense purposes?
juijitsu and boxing are both extremely practical wrestling is pretty underrated for self defence too, picking someone up and hitting them with the planet? nasty lmao
