I must be on my unc s*** because goddamn I was sleeping in the middle of the movie
U are cause that entire middle act was some of the best MCU s***
I must be on my unc s*** because goddamn I was sleeping in the middle of the movie
black hole scene was like mid movie, and thats peak
you on grampa status
like mjpplus just said, the bar is super low - both as a Fantastic Four adaptation and an MCU movie
so i feel like this is an accurate assessment. and coming after Superman i feel like the comparison will be inevitable and FF will be considered underwhelming.
nvm, I was wrong. this was great. it was a nice, thrilling ride with very few stopping points
What do y’all think are the best first acts in superhero movie history
The Batman easily
Finally an MCU movie with some f***ing style. Been too long.
They left some meat on the bone but it’s better than the alternative.
It might be up there on the Mount Rushmore of first installments. Iron Man, GotG, Black Panther, Homecoming. It’s holding its own.
The MCU is gonna be alright if they keep handing films off to Schreier and Shakman.
Why do they need more stars? That's not gonna do much for them at this stage of the MCU
I'd argue they're better off trying to make new stars like they did with Holland
Needs the general audience in seat
Listening on the ride home from the theater. Love when I can do that.
Marvel is 2/2 on movies this year. the retro futuristic vibes were off the charts and the visuals were some of my favorites of any film this year. acting across the board was extremely solid, with Vanessa Kirby and Ebon Moss-Bachrach being my standouts. I also really enjoyed the villain performances as well. Galactus shook the entire IMAX theater with his voice whenever he spoke. additionally, Michael Giacchino’s score was perfection and really cemented it as an all timer Marvel soundtrack. overall, this was a very pleasant time in the theater and I pray that Doomsday lives up to the hype next year.
8/10
im sure pedro right now is a bigger draw than when RDJ first did Iron Man 1
feel like this Reed has a lot of growing to do and I can see his growth into a really good leader, im personally excited for his future in the mcu
He prob is but i was saying i dont think the initial MCU crop were getting us on name only either. It was a good set of actors we got to see very often while caring about their stories.
I don't think he gets fans to theaters who didn't have plans to watch the prime summer MCU film already. Same for his upcoming MCU films. But now that he's here im happy we'll see him consistently which was missing in MCU for years.
Needs the general audience in seat
I think Pedro is a popular face people know and def a draw on TV, but i can't think of a movie he's been in where fans are showing up specifically because of him
Like this is his 3rd movie this summer, and 2nd in the last 2 weeks. Fans are going to these movies anyways.
