It was pretty clear the moments that were inspired by Malick or Nolan or Kubrick and I don't think she did quite as good of a job as I was hoping as far as honing all the influences down to her own vision within the MCU but it was still pretty awesome to behold.
Tha Malicky scenes back in the day just didn't look right with them wearing their superhero outfits should have gone with a little more of a dressed down look like when Thanos was farming
I don't really think she has a unique style that's her own, but you can tell she actually knows what she's doing and going for.
You need a movie to tell you about humankind? :elon: at minimum you can look at the rest of the Marvel universe. Or just look around you.
this is a stand alone movie. not an episode in a tv series. it should hold up on its own, especially because its connections to the rest of the mcu are shoehorned in. Thus, if the movie is about saving humanity, id like more than one real human character (Kumail's camera guy is just an extended joke) that only shows up for the first and last ten minutes.
It's also annoying how much the eternals talk down about humans when there are literally superheroes that are more powerful than many of them as individuals.

Well I don't think the film was perfect but just for arguments sake there were scenes of them mingling with people back in the day (and the scene that showed the dad getting massacred by the deviant). also they've been here for 7,000 years so it's not surprising they're not used to equally superpowered people yet.
Snyder fans saying he influenced this can take their L because the most boring aspect was powers of diet Superman Ikarus

JL (2021) gonna be the Barry Lyndon of this gen gonna take time for the influence to settle (atleast 15-20 years imo).

Random reference cause I perceive very little very Barry Lyndon influence. The Favourite was the first one in a long time afaict.
Donner the og of all this anyway
This was better than I expect

Obviously a robocat isn’t going to understand humanity without it being laid out on screen in a sappy way
Everything up until the end fight on a rewatch would probably be the biggest chore to sit through of any marvel movie
Ruined some brain cells

I'm the opposite and usually once I've seen a fight my brain goes numb whatever im watching it unless it's a truly stellar one. I'm here for the character development and lore and universe building and interconnectedness that was previously unfathomable. This only partly scratched my itch, need to see how they develop within the rest of the U.
Finally watched this s*** was terrible not as bad as ant-man and the wasp but damn i was bored unless a celestial was on screen or they were fighting. I knew the movie wasn't workng when ajack died and i spent like 20 mins wondering who tf that was before just giving up. Also the s***scene in this movie is highkey uncomfortable and tasteless.
anyone that see this in imax in the cinema? did the aspect ratio jump around too? i liked how they implemented the taller aspect ratio when talking to arsham

Yeah unless they shot it in 100% IMAX (which I believe has only been done on a couple things) the aspect ratio always jumps around for Marvel or Nolan or whoever
