I'm not doing that comic thing man imagine skipping ME1
ME1 is awesome but the planet exploration stuff gets pretty stale after a while
Just did the suicide mission for the first time in years
RIP Thane, Zaeed and Jacob
I lost that one sniper mercenary guy and I f***ed with him heavy
I think everyone else lived
Last thanksgiving I was talking to my cousin and he was telling me how he actually followed the guide to dating Miranda bc she was that hot
I was crying laughing

Yeah him. I’m pretty sure I went along w him when I played the game tbh and just let him get the revenge
Man playing through that one dlc quest with the … well you know. Was one of the most compelling video game moments oat for me
Anyone here played Andromeda and actually recommend it? I remember when that and Dragon Age 3 dropped I was watching footage of them and really thought BioWare had leaned too heavy into like cringey reddit-tier dialogue and romances etc, but at the same time I still kinda wanna try them after all these years.
The main reason why the ME2 squadmates were demoted to 1 time appearances was because they were in fact supposed to show up once more in the final mission. The idea was to give us a chance to complete their side mission, and if you did, they would show up on London. This even applied to Kirrahe as well.
There is zero evidence to suggest Kasumi and Samara would appear on Earth.
Miranda was originally going have a larger part in the game, but Yvonne Strahovski had scheduling issues.
War Assets were originally going to be assigned to planetary and orbital operations. Your original plans would get monkey wrenched by a 2nd reaper fleet arriving on Earth during battle. You'd then assign assets to keep these reinforcements at bay. Kasumi and Samara may have been possible assets here, which is why they would not be on the ground with you.
Thane was originally not going to die, unless under specific circumstances. This was changed halfway through production when they rewrote the coup plot, which also involved kicking Javik out.
I brought up an article I found in a magazine about Thane being a temporary squadmate, and it may have been a possibility if he survived the coup, especially if it was in a magazine.
Originally, Cerberus would've taken over the Citadel, and you'd see Cerberus guys occupying places around the Citadel, like Purgatory.
Back to the ME2 squadmates, the sidequest+final mission was the only plan, and possibly as an assigned war asset. If certain squadmates were in fact being considered full time like Garrus, it was during early or even pre-production like the stage the upcoming ME game is in right now. My personal theory is Jack, and I will die on that hill lol.
An obvious point, but should be mentioned nonetheless: what we got was an unfinished game. ME3 ran into production problems, and could not be completed in time. While the Extended Cut somewhat remedies this to a certain degree, the final mission remained unfinished.

This is really interesting but yet really depressing
Was Mass Effect 3 a good way to end a trilogy? No, but I’d still stand by saying that it still is a good game

Wasnt a fan of how centered around Earth it was. I liked that the story was always humans being just another alien and uniting everyone together to fight in deep space. And the final mission on Earth kinda sucked anyway. The ME2 squad getting sidelined sucked too but they kind of wrote themselves into a corner with the suicide mission.
Control ending was pretty sick though. My renegade Shep becoming the new machine overlord of the galaxy

2’s characters getting sidelined (or replaced if they died) was a punch in the gut. I just want a game that decisions you make actually make differences in your story. Yes I know there’s plenty of games that do that, but there really isn’t a whole lot that did it like Mass Effect did. Something that’s not just “variations” I guess.
Mass Effect wasn’t perfect, but it was pushing something that still a lot of RPGs don’t do. Even Telltale (while not rpgs) couldn’t do it.

For sure. It says a lot that despite the flop of the final act the series is still regarded so highly.
