Okay hold up Iβm in
In.
Definitely need to start making this a morning habit and take control of my lifestyle
Ready to start the day lets goooo.
Decided to toss my PT work and exercise to the back burner and have them as bonus habits throughout the week and replace their daily presence with reading and meditation.
Only did a 5min session this morning but will be increasing that slowly every morning. Today flew by tbh. Feeling good.
Used to be good for 20 min sessβs a day now I can only sit through 10 mins Ish, granted I find morning meditation more challenging
Now that its getting colder I cant go running anymore :(. Might have to supplement my runners high with some meditation, haven't done it since the spring.

Yea its usually around 30 degrees in the morning when i run and my assthma doesnt fit with it. Might do jump rope if i can find a place with a high ceiling, but for now ill stick to meditation

Ahh yeah I feel that. I got some baby ass lungs, no asthma anymore but had it when I was a kiddo.
Hope the meditation works well as a sub while its mad cold
Any tips for a beginner? Did it once and Iβm not sure if I did it correctly.
From my first time of meditating I laid in silence and listened to a calm sound and did that for about 10-15 minutes I believe
I wanna start incorporating it every morning. Gonna try and stay consistent with it for the duration of this month and see if it helps me

it depends, was your mind racing? the goal of meditation isnt to supress thoughts but to let them pass and not get "attached to them". for instance say you think "what am i gonna have for breakfast?" if u latch onto that thought youd go through a succession of thoughts, like "maybe some cereal, ah yeah fruity pebbles fye, f*** i gotta wash my dishes..."etc etc.
while in a meditative, when you think about breakfast, youll just notice that you thought about breakfast, and then refocus on the breath, its all about awareness of the present moment.
what helps me to focus is feeling the air around me and how it feels on my face and hands. feeling my body subtly move when i inhale and exhale, focusing on my belly stretching when i inhale, etc, basically i focus on any physical sensation i feel at that moment.
sometimes i just notice and listen to a sound non-judgementally. like buzzing, chirping, etc.
for a beginner id just say start with 5 minutes tho if youre not sure if you are doing it correctly imo
today i said mantras out loud
i got so lost in it that i was feeling out of body
i would say it in my head and then repeat it out loud like a conversation with myself
"I am confident".
"I am secure".
"I am safe".
"I am loved".
