This would mean more if he never dropped on Fridays and didn’t celebrate when he was selling records
exactly, Meek fell off and got mad bc other artists are where he used to be. now he's taking aim at the system but had 0 complaints when he was at his peak benefitting from it. even if its valid criticism, the timing is a little convenient. would've meant more if he was still on top of the charts and talking this spicy.
Meeks last album did 95K. Y’all talking like he fell off
Did more than Young Thug with less popular features
That's a looong time ago fam. Plus, Hov/Diddy were doing the sales talk before 50(listen to "Takeover") and Eminem went Diamond twice in a row before Wayne's peak.
Wayne and 50 were phenoms for sure but I mean to say their labels were shamelessly buying albums. Which is fine, but to then go and argue numbers is a little misleading. Hov literally said “men lie, women lie, numbers don’t” as if that’s a true statement lol what a joke.
Billboard charts bout to skyrocket in relevancy after this tweet
Whats crazy is in the last 2 years or so they cost money to even view them now
Damn
Beat me
Damn
Stop stealing my msgs from discord bum
So why should Philly buy Ross album?
lol rappers love to pop off and suddenly feel like they're the Voice for their city
Meek rly told people to buy 100,000 albums because a rapper signed another rapper. And now years later he doesn't even fw Ross because of that exact same deal. Funny how life works out

I'm not denying it but how do you explain the fluctuations in sales or how some people who were hot once can't sell a record to save their life now?
Rebirth was mid/trash and sold much less than C3 while C4 seemed to reflect the hype behind Wayne way more especially with 6 Foot 7 Foot out.
Like I said, I'm not ruling it out. I'm just saying that numbers can in fact reflect hype and fanbase behind an artist on a general level.

Rebirth also leaked in entirety (exact same songs) 2 months early

No they weren't you smokin hater d***
chance gets critically trashed
“why do we put numbers on albums??”
meek mill flops
“why do we care about first week sales??”

Yup. Which is sorta where I'm getting at.
The leaks and Prom Queen being polarizing af is what lead to the sharp decline in sales from C3.
C4 sold way more cause it had more of a proper rollout and people wanted to experience C3 era Wayne again.

They don't realize the bilboard numbers are audited thats why jayz buying a million copies multiple times didnt count. Thats how they are able to determine if a credit card bought 1 or 4+ copies etc.

The label didn’t push Rebirth quite as much. It had its videos and live performances but wayne wasn’t everywhere promoting it like how he was with C3. I’d also guess and say he didn’t do many features around that time but consider khaled regularly enlists him that’s probably not truue.

They did count the initial million he sold to Samsung though didn’t they? Or did mchg really do a million in sales

RIAA counts it not bilboard which is what measures first week sales. it's two different entities
