Starting with mgs1, think I’m gonna just play through the whole saga
Start with 3 if you’re planning on experiencing the saga in order.

I’ve already play 3 before. I’ve never touched the solid snake trilogy outside of a bit of mgs2

Play mg2
Anyone else playinng on switch 2 and the audio for the voices change all the time? I keep having to adjust the volume
Play mg2
Mg2? As in metal gear 2? Is it that good? And does matter if I play before or after the others?
Should I get vol 2 for switch 2 or ps5? I’m leaning toward portability but I feel like experiencing MGS 4 on PlayStation is just the way it’s meant to be lol. Do they have the same performance on each console?

Chronologically it would be like 6th or something but if you dont care about that just play it. It’s like 10-12 hours.

starting at MGS1 is a looot better than starting at MGS3.
Chronological order is cool once you know everything, but it's release order all the way for a first playthrough (you can skip Metal Gear games for the MSX obviously as well - although I think those hold up surprisingly well if you're wanting extra stuff to play)

its an amazing game, mgs1 is a remake in a lot of ways of mg2

Lol hence why I said if he wants to experience the story in order…?
i think the games can be played in any order. things you hear about first in release order are mysterious enough that if you play in chronological order they are still mysterious and both orders will elaborate and both orders (if you ignore mgsv for release order) end in mgs4 which ends the whole story near perfectly
I was playing MGS V earlier and actually that game holds up pretty well. I wish there was a ps5 pro upgrade for it because the resolution is a bit off or maybe it’s some weird motion blurring s*** going on that makes everything look all blurry. Otherwise incredible looking (and feeling) game for its time

I agree. Holds up great. Love V. Best mechanics in the series imo.
I might start that back up. There was a time where V was my comfort game. I could play that any day for a few hours.

Runs super smooth on switch 2 i have no complaints besides the audio sometimes being unbalanced. PW was made for PSP so it just feels right on the switch, but that could be my nostalgia speaking.
Also mgs4 is very cutscene heavy so using it in bed is comfortable
Returning to shadow Moses, that song, the throwback to mgs1 dream sequence
Absolute peak cinema
The outer haven mission, completely bonkers, such a fun level and also why did it look so good? Like he was cooking in 2008 it almost looked as good as a mgs5 level. that crazy fight with the metal gear ray vs rex was so fun and over the top, just a victory lap to celebrate this insane franchise
The ending with raiden and his family was so beautiful
that scene with Ottocon and sunny talking about snake was so f\*\*\*ed too, the suicide fakeout was crazy but I should know better by now that when he cuts away it’s always on some bs lmao
the final final reveal in the graveyard was so f\*\*\*ing wild lmao but after playing mgs5 knowing there’s 2 big bosses I wasn’t shocked at all tbh. Him knowing the foxdie in solid snake would kill him, but being at peace with that and telling snake to live his own truth was so touching. The final salute to the OG boss and saying he understood now. Damn. Felt like a perfect ending, gonna replay the series now

Don't sleep on peace walker it's pretty similar to V

Really excited to play that one actually
Vol 1 had these issues as well. Had to be modded to be fixed because Konami strangely didn't address them at all.
