    BRAVE

So I’m walking down the street at night not bothering anyone. I notice a jean claude looking mf staring me down looking alarmed and I stare back like “what nigga you want a staring contest?”

Then a white girl is walking in front of me, repeatedly looking back then stopping so I can go by (now I get a lot of looks from girls and gay guys alike but I can tell the difference between lust and fear)

Then a couple is about to cross to my side of the street; they look at me, the girl says something to the guy then they turn around to keep walking (MIND YOU THE NOGGA IS BLACK). So I say to myself “something fishy is abrew no salmon” then I realize what it is: it’s my first time wearing this particular fit:

    • backwards snapback (I got a bald fade underneath)
    • black hoodie
    • shorts (THAT ARE ABOVE MY F***ING KNEECAPS BTW WHICH IS NOT THREATENING)
    • white AF1s

But here’s the thing; I’m a skinny 5’10 guy who looks like a 16 year old. WTF am I gonna do to you? B**** I got AirPods I ain’t thinking about your ass

Nonetheless I just wanted to share this personal anecdote with y’all so maybe a good discussion can come from it

I hate that s***, got niggas watchin me in the store and s***

  • just wear a Maga hat and they'll think your one of the good ones

How do I cross the street without looking racist? Real question lol I go on walks every day around town almost daily and usually don’t see anyone so I’m good, but since the pandemic if I do see someone on my side of the sidewalk I’ll move to the other side just so we don’t have to cross paths

Never even considered til I saw this thread that I was being racist, any way I can avoid this?

Don’t worry about what people think lol. you know what’s in your heart

You don’t wanna risk catching a potentially deadly disease just to prove something you know you aren’t

SoCal. So I’m on 7th street right? Well it’s nothing but small families crackheads and gangbangers

I kid you not from 6th and up it’s like utopia then downtown once you reach 4th st

When I walk/run I go towards downtown cause that’s where the beach is. All this happened between 4th and 2nd. I go on this route every day and this is the first time this s*** has ever happened

I knew you were in Cali before I clicked on the thread You have to be white to be not feared/respected here. Unless you’re an athlete or light skin pretty boy influencer or some s***.

Yea man I experience this every night. I ride my bike just chilling listening to music and I always realize these subtle racial nuances from people and pass Byers. The other night I got stopped by cops for the first time in my life for not having lights on my bike. They stopped and frisked me.

It's weird being black in this country.
We are paranoid and also under attack or surveillance at all times

    Where u live?
