Does this movie reveal any significant things about MJ or his upbringing/legacy, etc that most seasoned fans probably don't know?

No, but why would it?
Fans already know the story.
@KingOfPop can you elaborate on this? I don’t have twitter
I’ve heard like small rumors about this but what’s the actual situation
I don't know really. I know MJ admired Diana a lot. I've never really looked into it enough to comment properly.
It's almost outgrossed Bohemian Rhapsody in India on day 1 lmao
Global box office for this is wild
Win for cinema as a whole
I enjoyed the film although it skipped around sooo much
this is a problem with movies overall these days tbh where theyre almost like a montage of set pieces with some stuff between
general audience got tiktok fried brain so u cant make it “too slow”

MJ was always for the people and they can't stand it, nothing new
F*** them all
Must say seeing the entire theatre dance during the film and afterwards was so wholesome
I hear a lot of people say this but how on earth are they gonna go into detail about every single aspect of his life without making it a thousand-hour movie? It's not realistic to expect that level of detail. There's a lot of documentaries about MJ divided into several episodes which allow for more detail. I don't think a big-screen movie like this one is the format for the level of detail we may want.
Edit: Whoops. I quoted the wrong person. I meant to respond to those who say that the movie sped through/skipped parts of his life/process/people who mattered/didn't go deep enough.

Because maybe there are things about his life that not everyone knows idk. Idc tbh just wondering cuz I can't see the movie just yet
This is a childhood trauma movie. To the highest degree. Those who had less than perfect upbringings will be moved by this

I think the best way to go about it would of been to just focus soley on the thriller era. I feel like you could tell the same story of someone gaining his independence from his abusive father but make it even more compelling.
Like you said, you can't fit his whole life in a movie, we have documentaries for that. So why even try try
This version of the song is so tough

ain’t seen the theater packed like this in a long ass time
Imagine you in there just trying to watch the movie and some nerd Stan stands up in front of the screen and starts doing mj dances
