It explains it a bit but as someone who doesn't use streaming apps, the decline of blogs killed the distribution of music. It's too A la carte and the artists have to use streaming to get their music heard, but that comes at the cost of artists building out the vision of their albums because the physical is gone

Nah I don’t f*** with Spotify but they recommend to me a LOT of new artists. I discovered 750 artists this year on their versus only like 200 on Apple, and most of that was through their recommended playlists.

The algorithm is trash everywhere, but discovering new artists, Spotify at least got that
