The massacre disrespect be crazy like how can people hear that album and not see it as a masterpiece songs like in my hood,I’m supposed to die tonight, ryder music etc
Candy shop aged great and the s*** still get played everywhere s*** almost as big as in da club
It's a solid album for what it is but it's a far cry from GRODT and it's def not a classic lmao. Better than the haters say but nowhere near being a must-listen

Encore > Relapse
T.I. is definitely a decent artist lol. Two classics makes him a legend but outside of those and Urban Legend you can skip basically the rest of his catalog lol. Legends can be just okay artists, GOATs are the ones who keep it going year after year and decade after decade.
Nahhhhhh
Imo there’s more room on the spectrum
It doesn’t go from GOAT to decent
Let’s say the spectrum is: trash, bad, mid, decent, good, great, GOAT. Legends with classics do not fall under mid or decent, but under good or great. Decent/mid would be more like Big Sean, Wale, Wiz Khalifa, Fat Joe, Ja Rule type territory to me. Notable artists with some kind of skill set and some hits but lacking classic albums and not being near true legend status, forget goat status.
I feel like you’re doing this the way people review albums these days, if it’s not GOAT/classic it goes straight to mid lol, good just stopped existing
I can see the reason you hold Kendrick so high, I used to have that obsession with consistency and being too nit picky like that. But you don’t have to have a “perfect” discography/batting average to be a good artist. That is rare and not the only measure. Stevie wonder has like 5 essential albums and then like 20 others that don’t matter to anyone, it don’t make him a mid or decent artist lol. Same with Wayne who has a worse album catalog than TI
T.I. has 4-5 good to great albums, two of them being classic, with a lot of classic hits. In the scheme of rap, that falls above okay/decent. Decent artists don’t have 2 classics, they’re lucky to have 1
T.I is probably a top 5 southern rapper oat objectively but at the very least he’s top 10, so think about what you’re saying about the south if one of their best technical lyricists with multiple classics and hugely important impact for the region is just “okay”. No he’s a good artist at minimum lol and I might even say borderline great. Just not GOAT

T.I.'s cultural legacy is solidified and he is a skilled rapper but the south has way more talented rappers than him lol
are all outrapping Tip lol, and that's just for starters

Ross isn’t just for one. And a lot of those guys have worse Album catalogs than TI
Why you think Luda out raps him? That’s wild lol Luda is less technical
JID? Now that’s a decent artist. You’re saying you rate JID higher than TI as an artist?

Calling an album "toilet water" is crazy lol

Jay Electronica, J. Cole, 2 Chainz, and Rick Ross, are the only artists with weaker catalogues than T.I. on the list lol
J.I.D. is too new to evaluate one way or another but I'm more impressed by him lyrically than T.I.

You’re saying JID has a better catalog than TI? See this has to be this thing where you give newer artists too much credit for not falling off yet so they seem more “consistent” or “perfect”. That is an insane take
Edit idk if you added that part or I missed it
Trippie Redd is the perfect exemple of this to me
Trippie really hit or miss, but great hits

I'm not putting J.I.D. into the conversation one way or another in terms of catalog because it's still too soon to tell. It's shaping up well rn but he's got a long way to go before he's in that caliber
But it's def not impossible that he could get there one day.

Kamikaze is OK
It’s just that he truly put out a debut classic that can’t be topped more than illmatic tbh

no it's because all his other albums aside from Blue Carpet Treatment are either mid or ass
Nas couldn't match or top Illmatic but he's got plenty of other great albums/classics in his catalog

Snoop does too come on now

Honestly fam I’m never going to rate a Reddit darling artist with an actually impactful hip hop artist. It’s just too hard to quantify and I think people who like JID is more of a personal taste thing that is very hard to rank with artists who are more important
Snoop does too come on now
A lot of classic singles yes
Albums? I enjoy R&G and Blue Carpet is certified but that's honestly about it lol. Post-2011 bro has been almost always terrible outside of "Bush" lol

It's reductive to call J.I.D. a "reddit artist" lmao, I know plenty of people who are normal and don't use Reddit who enjoy his music
And legacies are fluid. Just like they can take downturns, they can have upswings. In time, J.I.D. could end up being that dude, or he could not
T.I. is ahead of him for now, and may always be, but it wouldn't be surprising if J.I.D. ended up going on a creative tear in the near future
