T.I. is ahead of him for now, and may always be, but it wouldn't be surprising if J.I.D. ended up going on a creative tear in the near future

GhomaB tier rapper specifically within the context of commercial rappers, I'd be lying if I implied he's on the caliber of Jay, Nas, Pac, Big, or even Blu (I hate his music but immensely respect him as a person and emcee), but you get my point.
Guess I'll agree with him having one of the best labels

Canibus was HOT s*** for a minute. Anybody who has heard his feature run or the radio freestyles before Wyclef and LL Cool J drove him crazy knows. Big L levels of energy and punchlines. Jay Electronica adjacent mythos.
He fails so hard commercially that he only gets more insular and crazy tho. J Cole got his start on the Canibus forums. Has the song I Can Bus as a reference to him. Full of punchlines in that vein. That level of influence and he's got like 2-3 okay albums.
