Nigga she just called left a voicemail assigning me two NEW additional projects to get done…

    DUE TOMORROW

Even though I just finished and turned in my project for this week over the weekend.

And the earliest I can now take a break now is Nov 8

Bro I’m hip, she gave me the out, but then she sent a bunch of texts about how I’m putting the team in a scramble and that if it’s next month it would be much easier for them

And I f***ed folded like a punk and said ok “how about Nov.8-15”

As a huge Drake fan making a compromise it’s folding, just make sure you bring it up during your review and use it for leverage when asking for a raise

It also reads as if you’ve been working there less then 6 months, that’s pretty early to be burning out, might be best to definitely follow through with the new job hunt

As a huge Drake fan it might be her way of manipulating the situation so that there’s less work to do while you’re gone

Yeah.. your manager is playing victim. Did you finish all your projects and have a handoff plan for someone else to cover for you in the interim?

Anyways, I strategically I wouldn't of done two weeks off consecutively. If I were you, I would of taken another week of halloween to take off then the week leading up to or after thanksgiving. OR just take Fridays and Mondays off for a couple weeks.

Pls find a new job ASAP.

The week of Halloween and then another leading up to Thanksgiving is actually a great idea F*** it Ima counter with this. Thank you!!!

Nahh this wouldn’t have an effect on that tbh since these would be up ASAP, rather than her saving them for later while I’m gone..

Also nahh I’ve been there for 14 months, although 6 months in I could feel the burn out creeping in

why dont you take a couple days off / vacation before you make any decisions. Quitting and not having another gig lined up is not smart.

Oh then as a huge Drake fan make a decision for your time off and stick with it, ignore any complaints she has because it’s her job to manage tho situations with you out, work will still get done without you regardless of what she says

@op I quit two jobs now with no backup plan. Uhhhhh ngl tho I made a lot more than 25k so I had an enough money saved up to quit for awhile, so take my advice with a HUGE gain of salt. Also im in a niche sector of tech with a pretty good resume, and an LLC that I can use to make money if need be. Don’t know your situation but I’d be a fool if I didn’t tell you mine.

But with all that being said.

Stress is accumulative, and stress is a silent killer. You either take the time you need to de stress and learn ways to cope with stress. Or you will deal with the mental and physical effects of stress later. Either way you’re gonna be at a setback.

But How stressed are you? and for how long? If this is a new stress id say you gotta stick it out, the first job after college is hard for everyone. So much changed in your life at once. So, you have growing pains. If this is the case try to take at least two weeks off, try to go somewhere new or doing something new to break up the routine and monotony. Even a weekend road trip can recharge the batteries. If youre in the us try to see if amtrak has some cheap trains you can take to a new city.

How you been under constant high stress for years (like 8-10)? Then you might want to consider quitting outright. At that point you health is might be headed down the road of health issues.

You’re young so your body is still fresh and new. You’ll recover from damage faster now. But will you in the future? What will do you when those stomach pains become chronic? Coughing up blood? What will you do when your back starts locking up due to stress? Lower back pain that starts in your late 30s that persists for the rest of you life? Drink away the pain? Liver cirrhosis is fatal.
What about your weakened immune system? What country do you live in? USA? Do you make enough to offset the healthcare costs that come with this?
if youre stress chronic you need to do something before it does something to you.

but if not brodie learn some coping mechanisms, try to get out and do something new, go somewhere new if you can, eat healthy, take your vitamins, drink water, and youll be fine. getting better sucks at first, and the first part can last years. but it gets better.
