I could see how it might have been commentary about men not paying attention to women but that was her brother lol
I liked it a lot.
The party scene was mid to me. Wasted set piece.
Airport scene was incredible.
I didn’t watch any promo or trailers for this so the motorcycle mountain jump was truly breathtaking.

Was the brother aware of “mask” like the CIA agents were? Cus if he’s not, I doubt he’d assume “wait your eye color is different, you must be a fake person!!!”

No that’s true he didn’t. But him noticing a wardrobe change and not eye color is funny
Maybe I have a different view cause my audience was very aware of it and were waiting for it to come into play some how
Better than Fallout for me
This one had way more stakes and fallouts constant insistence for me to care about what’s happening on screen really hurt it
I appreciated the De Palma callbacks
Still think ghost protocol, rogue nation and the first are the best ones.
Hayley Atwell and Cruise were excellent though
But the eyes were wrong on the mask. Widow has blue eyes. Was that always a thing in MI that it didn’t change eye color?
I rewatched all movies leading up to this one and can’t remember if eyes never changed with the mask
Rewatched MI3 yesterday and when he impersonates Hoffman, the mask didn't cover his eyes.

Lmao your audience was talking out loud about her eye color?
But it’s definitely easier to notice something as big as a full different outfit vs someone’s small eyes
This felt pretty underwhelming coming after fallout. Action sequences didn’t really hit and the writing wasn’t as good. Also much prefer ilsa to grace and thought John lark was a way better villain than Gabriel/the entity, but that could change with part 2

Yeah lmao there were whispers around where I was sitting
But it’s definitely easier to notice something as big as a full different outfit vs someone’s small eyes
We’ll probably just agree to disagree the blue to brown was very noticeable to me

This is interesting. Phillip also has blue eyes. So it was consistent I didn’t know if it was just a decision they made here
I still say her brother should’ve noticed vs Phillip’s henchmen noticing in MI3 but it’s a small thing and wasn’t my only issue with the movie. I still liked it as a whole. Just didn’t reach where I thought it would
How good?
the airport sequence was great, the title scene was amazing, club stuff was eh and I think I prefer Paris chase over Rome. but once they get on that train oh boy
We’ll probably just agree to disagree the blue to brown was very noticeable to me
Who was blue, who was brown?

I need to rewatch rogue nation, I remember really wanting to see it but it ended up being kinda eh to me
