is it true that your perspective changes when you have them?

i've heard a bunch of people who never wanted kids say everything changed when they saw them for the first time

i really feel like everything in life your life takes greater meaning when you have kids and everything you do beforehand is just sorting yourself out so you can raise them

  • Family doesnt mean much to most anymore, for better or worse

yea. Agreed. I have very strong family values in me. Small ass family, no family splits, so it's stayed small, 4 cousins total, 4 uncles/aunts total. because of that though, we've all stayed extremely close. no drama, just love.

it's the drama, that I see, that causes people to not value family as much as they should.

crine thats huge to me. 0 aunts/uncles, 0 cousins, grandparents dead before i was born. that's informed my pov on family to a large degree. to me family is who you choose, not who ur born into

you should have a teenage son by now 😭

One of my bros does no thanks

  • Make sure you have them kids so they can be good little workers now ya hear?

  • childrearing is an important part of the maturation process that when delayed, can lead to permanent pubescent mentality/immaturity.

Having kids just because you feel like youre “supposed to” is so much worse than not having them

why not? for all of the money colleges charge for tuition they could easily just add daycares

They didnt even get time to work themselves out as an adult? raising a child is bigger than fiscal responsibility

meh my grandparents are straight old world immigrants who’ve had liters of kids & I feel like I’ve mostly seen the downside of that aspect, I certainly don’t consider anyone outside of my immediate family “family”

You couldn’t possibly know what it’s like to be a parent without kids of your own. It’s hard to fathom if you don’t have kids yourself, but genuine love for your own children is not some “cope” that we force on ourselves. That’s just apart of your worldview

Your loves for your kids comes naturally if you’re a normal, healthy minded person

“ Your loves for your kids comes naturally if you’re a normal, healthy minded person”

    Most people arent (imo) unfortunately

Im sure I’ve read that economists, governments and others are predicting most of the world will see their death rate pass the birth rate in the next 30 years

One thing i forgot to mention is aging, our view on this subject changed dramatically as lifespans increased, before when 50-60 was max age it made sense to have kids younger, now we live to 70-80+, its natural to wanna push responsibilitirs back, but just be aware that there is a time limit

Or maybe let people do whatever tf they wanna do
