I would agree on Kendrick being the tiniest bit overrated as an artist, not as a rapper. Primarily because he's capable of so much more, and I think he doesn't drop nearly enough and leaves his fans starving. I understand he only drops when he's inspired since he's dedicated to his craft, but surely you can't have inspirstion crop up this rarely. At least do some features like you did when you were hungry pre-2017. That didn't compromise the artistic integrity of TPAB or GKMC. Just my take tho.

and MM&TBS isn't even that good, Kendrick's reddit make it seem like it's some sort of masterpiece but it really isn't

i would say the opposite. i like kendrick’s music but if you actually read the lyrics sometimes he ain’t really sayin s***. this is especially pronounced on TPAB, where to me he ain’t saying anything all that new or profound. i would posit that DAMN. and Big Steppas are actually his most lyrically interesting alongside GKMC and S80.
