I love discussing this topic, its probably one of the most important and relevant in modern gaming
The other is degenerative game design, or when games come out with problems that have been fixed in big staples of the genre that everybody knows about, drives me crazy
Why
Lost Ivy to Rainbow Gang and there's a massive imbalance, need that Southern flavor to restore that balance
Good example: God of War 2018
Is that game an RPG? Or an action game? By having one foot in both genres it muddies and confuses the experience making all aspects mediocre
But because the presentation and graphics are A1 and the story is supposedly "serious", it gets 10/10s across the board even though there are massive flaws that are so obvious
I think this is what OP is trying to get at. When deciding if a video game is a 10/10 or classic, what is the most important aspects? Presentation, story and graphics? Or gameplay, systems and replayability?
We may never have a definitive answer but its worth discussing

L for y’all
Shouldn't have made this thread when y'all are riding a high. It's like making a thread criticizing a Kendrick album right after it drops.
Hahahahaha
I’d say the first last of us gameplay Is way better than the story which was kinda trash
