I was talking about the exact same thing yesterday, in fact we exchanged the exact same thing you just pointed out with literacy rates decreasing and it beginning with the music people are ingesting. We spoke for about 2 hours on the topic, so I understand exactly what you are talking about.

While that is true, I am simply talking about if I come across, let’s say, a post of a group of friends getting a studio sessions as an artistic activity to engage in together, similar to going to a museum or having a painting/poetry/music picnic, where they make music where they are just having fun and let’s say they like it so much they release it for their other friends to listen to. To me, there is nothing wrong with that and it allows people to feel good about expressing themselves and an activity they experienced with others or even by themselves.

To me, that’s awesome and actually keeps the childlike joy and wonder of creating. Like I said, to each their own. I’m not here to gate keep, I welcome everyone and I’m happier for it. This is no way means artists who still have an important message to share also can’t thrive and be successful and also garner other people to their cause, even in the same space as the people in it just to have fun. It allows for an even larger community where we are all together loving what each other has to offer

    I respeck ya optimism dawg

It will be replaced with the content creation industry and influencers will be the new celebrities

People are realizing how corporate the Entertainment industry is so they’re slowly moving away from consuming it. Plus the quality has dropped significantly in the past 10 years

2023 was a pretty crazy year for Hollywood, I’m not gonna lie, with all those big bombs, but at the same time you had success stories, on bigger and smaller scales. The videogame sector had a record-breaking year. Music streaming grew considerably, especially in internationally markets like Mexico, Indonesia and India, the vinyl market stays healthy and tours from Taylor, Bey and The Weeknd, thanks to inflation and sadly a big scalping rate, grossed historic numbers in $, but also in attendance numbers. I agree that the entertainment industry faces big changes, but I don’t see a major paradigm shift ahead of us.

@browser This is also 1000% why all ur fav artists sold they masters to cash out early.

They probably were seeing the signs a crash/reset was coming.

I don’t think enough people really turned their antennas up when this was happening happening

    In No particular order

Justin Bieber, Tina Turner, Lil Wayne, Katy Perry, Justin Timberlake, and many others sold their masters within a 1-2 year time period

People who continue to say "Streaming is the future" always miss the huge point.

I love Streaming, but I won't replace it with Cable/Live TV or Physical Media.

Because like @insertcoolnamehere said, what if Hov takes his projects off streaming, and puts the super ultra copyright like he did before.

Are you gonna have those physical copies backup?

Vinyls are having their moment, but you see the appreciation of CDs sooner or later.
